Impulse virus like activity

OK, this is weird!

I am running Vista 64-bit SP1 and latest Impulse on two machines. On one machine everything is fine with Impulse, no issues at all. However, on the other, I noticed that there were a few programs in "My Desktop" that didnt have an icon. So, I checked C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\Images\Icons and lo and behold the odnt.png file is missing! So, I copied it from the working machine and reloaded Impulse, checked "My Desktop" and still no Icon on some of the apps! I thought, what the fu**!!!! Went back to C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\Images\Icons and searched for odnt.png and it wasnt there!!!!!!!!!! What the hell????? Why does Impulse insist on deleting this PNG file and why wont it show the Icon in "My Desktop"?

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here, I re-installed Impulse but the same happens.

thanks

Well I've installed Impulse on just about every variant of Windows that it is said to work for and never experienced the problem. So I'd say it's something on your end, a hokey reg key or something.

I have the same problem, vista 64 regular icons disappeared after install in a lot of places.

Which icons are missing? Typically the odnt.png image is used only for Object Desktop Launchpad which is a legacy application. Try signing into Impulse and click the orb in the upper left corner. Click on 'Preferences' and then click the 'Reset Data' button. Let Impulse update and then sign back in and check again.

After installing all the components of Object Desktop and ObjectDock with Impulse, many of the desktop and start menu icons are gone. This is quite suprising. I'm running Vista x64 SP1. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it? Thanks for any assistance.

If you have IconPackager installed, open it and click on the 'Settings' tab. Try the repair options listed at the bottom of the window.
