Sins with no CD

I got sins when it first came out, been playing it a while and have noticed that after the new update the CD was not required to play the game.  I have just got a new laptop, one of the small ones with no CD drive and was wondering if it were possable to play the game on the laptop with the game that i own.  I reckon its possable as you can download the game and play it like that, but any idears on how to transfer the game over that i already own?

Just download impulse onto your laptop, and download it from there, I'm sure it will work as long as you do not log into both computers.

Actually it never has been.:)

If you have internet access on your laptop, you can install Impulse and download the entire game. Or if you can share the disc drive across your network or copy it over to the laptop somehow to run the install, that will work too.

Even better, if you have a friend or family member you want to play with, we're fine with you running it on your desktop and laptop at the same time for a LAN game.

If i downloaded the game from Impulse i guess i would have to pay for it again?  Is there someway i can enter the CD key and get it again without paying again?  On the other hand the network idea may work. something to try when im not so hung-over!

You don't have to pay for it again. Just install Impulse, log in with the account (e-mail) you used to buy it, and you'll be able to just download it. The serial # is permanently attached to your Stardock account, so you can re-download as many times as you want.

From your post I'm guessing you have a netbook with a screen resolution of 1024x600 resolution. A resolution not currently supported by Sins. Even if you installed it the bottom half of the interface would be cut off. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Maybe the developers could add support for this resolution in an update for sins as I too have a netbook and would like to play sins. ;)

BOOM goes the bubble :(  yea you might be right.  I do have a netbook, will try it anyhow but it may be a problem.

You see this is why I'm buying Stardock games. You guys seem to value the customer. Like ID or Digital Extremes. Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 Arena and UT2K4 all eventually came out with patches that got rid of needing the CD in the drive. Did I pirate the game? No, I've bought it several times. For the PC, for the mac, Totaly Unreal, UT2K4 editors choice, Unreal Anthology, Quake 3, Quake 3 Gold, Ultimate Quake....
