IE 8 is new.. still Beta isn't it? I doub't anybody has had a chance to skin it.. :)

Since IE8 is still in beta I don't think Stardock has made any changes yet for compatibility bugs/fixes.  I could be wrong.  I use IE8 on an XP Home system and I don't see those problems.

I have the same problem too........ >:(

the ones on the side bar are small aswell 8O

WB is not IE8 ready, heck IE8 isn't even ready.

For what it is worth IE8 is now RC1. Technically speaking (in MS's mind) that is not really a beta any more. The difference is that now the bar by which a problem is judged to be a "show stopper" or not has gone WAY up by roughly an order of magnitude.

So though I know Stardock has a lof of compatibility work to do to accomodate IE8 and Win 7, it is certainly time to pay some attention to IE8 compat issues.

Correct - it went RC1 last week... that means that usually there is a 30 day window until it goes live. More folks will be installing it going forward, if I were Stardock, I would look into this problem, rather then go back to ie7, I disabled Windowblinds until there is a fix. This did not happen with IE 8 Beta 2, just started with RC1.

If you look at the thread over on MS forum I linked to in the first post - it is a problem w/ custom visual styles as well.

I have the same "tiny box" problem. What is that? That's weird. Everything else with IE8 RC seems OK. Much faster than Beta2. Running XP SP3.

No i think it great too(fast). but i would rather have Windowblinds on my comp than IE8....... *_*

so i uninstalled IE8 till the prob's are fixed...

I have the same text box problem in IE8, but if to working when close the WB, if WB is active the text box return very small ...

What OS's are people running that are having the text box problem?

Where are the small text boxes showing up, in what programs?

Vista SP1

password boxes.ect

and allso i was getting it on the sidebar gadget's too

I have a problem in WXP SP3 with IE8, in boxes to write a password or text box to search in google etc....

It's worth pointing out that IE8 RC1 is coming out via Windows Update. For now I have chosen not to install (I use FF3 anyway), but getting this to work should at least be a priority.

Even when their software is "finished" it isn't. RC1's are little different from betas. Maybe slightly less problematic.

We believe we have found the problem and it appears to be a bug in IE itself.  However we have created a workaround and there should be a new 6.4 beta going up later this week.

Besides the extremely small boxes and small links you will also find that the dropdown "Command Bar "menus for Play, Safty & Tools etc drop down with no text in them. I just disabled WB for IE 8 only leaving it on all other screens. Windows XP SP3.

I just disabled WB for IE 8

Probably the best thing to do until Neil's got the WB work-around released....;)

[You should see what it does to the admin mod Q stuff]...;)

As much as I was liking IE8 those small text boxs where everywhere.  I rolled back to IE7, when the fix is out or when it is finally released I will install it.  Hopefully by then Stardock and IE8 will be compatible.  IE8 was also messing with adding new friends in Impulse.

Neat.

I never thought of that --> and this is a much better handle than

- waiting for WB 6.4 final release

- rolling back IE8 RC1

I'm having the same problem.  All was fine with IE 8 Beta, but since Windows Update upgraded it to RC1, I have extremely small text entry and message boxes on all the sites I've visited; except this one (weird).  I'm running Vista Home.  Any better ETA on that windowblinds update??  Maybe I'll just rollback to the Beta version until it shows up.

Posted this in another thread and seems to need placing here as well.

Or, you can open ie. goto tools\internet options\advanced and unclick the option for enable visual styles on buttons and controls in webpages.

and yes it is only in ie8rc1 but can be fixed.

It also looks like the latest WB blinds beta from yesterday fixes this as well as I am no longer seeing the problem.
