Help Playing

Only One Char

This might be a stupid question, and might be possible to find answer somewhere, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

Do you only control the one hero character in the game? Or am I missing something?

If you choose to play an assassin, you control only one hero. If you choose to play a general, you control summonable units as well as a hero.

I assume when the full game comes out  there will be more of a tutorial level, or such right?

What do u mean tutorial, demigod is very easy to learn to play but more difficult to master. I doubt their will be a much of a tutorial because their really isnt that much to get.

The developers have specifically said that should a tutorial be needed to learn the game, they have failed to develop it properly.

It really is extremely easy to understand the basics.

There will be something of a user's manual though, if I recall correctly.

I think it's an excellent question and you just get to control 1 hero.  It's hard to understand if you never play dota.

It took me about 5 minutes to understand the basics, however i did not realise at first that the demigods are split into generals and assasins - i thought that was a choice you made or something ^_^ .

End of bennnnny's quote

It's ok, they are nearly identical so it is a common mistake. Unclean Beast (Assassin) and Regulus (Assassin) are more different then Unclean Beast (Assassin) and Erebus (General). Given the promises on how the Demigod Assassin/Generals mechanics are so different and of the previews on the game I find it impossible for such similarities to be formed... but they have. Also look at Torch Bearer and Queen of Thorns, similar abilities between 2 Demigods that should be A WORLD APART in gameplay. I guess thats why Torchie has been demoted off the roster so people won't realise they are half alike as an Assassin and a General.

The beta pattern so far suggests they are removing parts of the content because they want the testers to focus on what is left in the beta.

Lan was (temporarily) removed when the netcode needed testing

Old maps have been removed (temporarily) when new maps have been introduced

Thanks for the replies. I understood the gameplay, but I asked the question cause it just seemed like there was something missing. Yet once I kept playing it, it got better.
