Impulse Help

I purchased Sins of a Solar Empire, a long time ago, like a year -and used stardock central for a while - then recently upgraded my computer. <IE: replaced>

I decided I'd like to play Sins today, and tried to download and install Impulse so I could try downloading Sins <as I still have the CD key thing or w/e but no data disks> - The program attempts to install (Impulse) at the start then I receive an error stating "setsdaff has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."  Then continues installing, I run Impulse and it crashes.

This is the only Error I'm getting, and haven't seen anything else on how to indentify the problem.  Help? I've searched high and low and nothing comes up, or should I just give up and forget I ever bought this game I can't seem to play....

Thanks in advance.

PS. On my 7th attempted install an error report showed up this round.

EventType: clr20r3  P1: Impulse.exe P2 1.0.0.0 P3: 4946bb0d

P4: mscorlib P5: 2.0.0.0 P6: 44d2b131 P7:1a8b P8: 10

Try installing from the full client of Impulse.

http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe

Also make sure you are running it as administrator.

Same Issue - and I am running as admin, on Windows XP home.

Same exact error.

The "setsdaff" error typically is caused by a broken .NET install. Please make sure your machine is fully up to date via Windows Update and that you have .NET 2.0 installed. If you still have this problem, please send an email to support@stardock.com and we can dig deeper.

You can download the following utility: http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools/netfx_setupverifier_new.zip
After it downloads, extract the contents of the .zip and run netfx_setupverifier.exe

When the program opens, select '.NET Framework 2.0' and then click the verify button. It will give you a result of the condition of .NET. Click in the dropdown box and select '.NET Framework 2.0 SP1' and then click the verify button.

You can also try removing and reinstalling .NET with the instructions provided in the link below:
