I played with Sith Lord- Imperial today.  He did really well, I don't know why he is on this list.  I have no complaints about him what so ever.

For what I remember, your record was fanastic, but your team player competecy was sub-par.  I think people are missing the point of this thread.  This isn't the "These players suck/rude/ignorant" thread.  This is the "These players go AFK, don't play good as a team member, or aren't as good as their record suggests".  Having such a list is useful when trying to make BALANCED teams.

If you wanne see how good i´am or how bad in a team tell me and i make a team game with you most my records are from 2 vs. 2 games and

a few 1 vs 1.

mysins should be added to this list cause he turned a very good 2 hours game into a horrible 4-5 hours game.  it was a 4v4 game and we crushed 3 of his teamates and one guy gott diconnected on our team so it turned out to be a 3v1 plus a computer on our team.  it was me drunken master and athilis, and a computer on my team and mysins on the othere team left after 2 hours.  now mysins wasnt touched at all for the first 2 hours while everyone else was having their own go arounds with the other team and ill admit my sins had a huge fleet bigger thne all 3 of ours to begin with but then he just kept dodging us and wouldnt fight and jsut taking planets and as he would tkae one of ours we would take 2-3 of his but this went on for like 2-3 hours and he wouldnt leave then when we r about to finish off his last 2 planets 4-5 hours into the game he suddenly laggs out, coincidence? i think not cause he didnt have an internet problem the whole game im will to bet everything that he pulled his internet so it wouldnt count at all.  we were nice to him asked him to leave and all that he even knew he was lossing and he said he was watching tv jsut moving his ships to planets and letting it go afk for a min or 2.  u know he had an amazing fleet so i could understand why he wanted to continue the game but then dodging us and going afk and when he realised he was lossing as we were taking 3 planets to him taking 1 he still wouldnt leave and thne pulled his internet at the end of the game i call that uncalled for cause that lagged us for about 3-4 more mins.

Please add mysins to the list...

as for this post i find it important cause then when making a game u know who is gonna lag out in the begining and make u make a remake, it lets u know who u wouldnt want to play with cause they arent a team player or they r rude and to some ppl they dont want to play with rude players me idc cause i can be rude at tiems too but i dont like playing with laggers and quiters cause then its like why did i jsut waist 30mins or more of my time to play this gmae when someone is jsut gonna quit.  i find black lists important and i think everyone should have one it makes for better game play for that individual person.  and as for ppl could jsut make new names thats fine maybe they will play different cause they know their other character is on the black list and also most ppl care about their record and so if their act with the good record is on the black list most ppl arent gonna want to start all over with the record so maybe they change their ways and get off the black list.

as for sith-lord ill vouche that he is a good player and i ahev never had a problem with him and i ahve played with him several times but almost everyone else on that list deserves to be there for my experience cept for Exo cause i never played with him before so i dont know how he is.  keep up the good job how.

I think to fix y'all complaining, what I need to do is put a short explaination after each user. 

Dude, when you've played over 700 games, it's not like you are going to remember each and every player.  Thus the reason why I am going to start adding reasons.  Too bad replays are still broken.

Take sith of the list i just played a couple games with him nothing wrong with him at all. Leaves when hes lost doesn't abandon his team, good communication no reason for him to be on the list.

Ill vouch for sith. I had good team games with him.

For shure dude i remember all my enemys, and if i would  make such a liste the first idear would be to write down becuase of wich reason that guys are added !!!

Such a List can be usefull but not with this system, where one guy just add peopel without justification because why there are added, everbody can  denunciate somone and you will belive it and add him to that list ??

If a few player still need this list my Proposition would be to w8 till (for exampel) 4-5 Player post in this Thread ""Mr. XXXXX is always lagging""    or somthing and put him after this at  list ,not so airy like now!!!

The very concept of a blacklist without substantiated proof (all we have is your word, and apparently your trusting of the words of others) is practically libel by definition. If this weren't the internet (with convenient, fake names), you would probably get sued for it.

Players should be allowed to form their own opinions of other players all by themselves - they don't need (or want) you to hold their hands.

This list is absurd, and I hope the mods realize that soon enough. It's gonna be hard to get new players interested in Sins if the community has its own witchhunts.

Just let players decide these things for themselves, and word-of-mouth should take care of the rest by itself.

Besides, the fact that people can rename themselves anyway makes this pointless, but that's been pointed out already.

Word of mouth had spread for at least a number of the players on the list (rightly or wrongly). All that has happened is that it has been recorded somewhere.

You may classify it as libel (again, rightly or wrongly), but otherwise it is slander if said in ICO as that is a real time conversation vs stored in the forums....

As a general rule; it's dumb to sue someone when you don't have any damages to collect.  What would be the economic damages in this case?  Being unable to play games that a few other people who take the blacklist seriously are hosting?  Assuming you could collect damages for that, what would be the value of the damages?  Perhaps $100?  I doubt that someone could prevail on a claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress.  I'm not real knowledgeable about defamation law so I can't say whether or not it's possible to get punitive damages for defamation, but I would guess that you wouldn't be able to win them for something like this.

I don't think he presumes that people will take what he says seriously merely because it's posted on the Internet but rather because they know him and find him to be reputable and credible.

This has an element of truth - the players that know one another (i.e. the skilled/pros/what ever you want to call them) also know enough to know when to listen to what others say and take their advice or opinion on board...

Also remember - people get a bad rep for things other then being a bad player. They get it for not surrendering when the game is decided and everyone on their team has lost for example... I played against Bksabath recently in a game where he was the only human player left on his team (others quit etc...), and he had 2 AI in the system vs me - everyone else was in the other system feeding me (game was 4v4 with 3v1 in two systems). I was able to build a holding fleet to stop the AIs that he was calling in to fight me while I attacked him with my main fleet. It was inevitable we would win as my fleet was better as I had more carriers etc.... My allies were asking him to quit/surrender because they had another game they wanted to be in (they were in a clan), but he would not surrender. He even said gg and played on for another 5-10 minutes. Only when my egg had all but sucked him dry did he quit. Does this make him a bad player? No. It does however piss off people who don't want to kill every enemy planet in the game to end it (they could play SP for that...), and would like to move on to a new game once the current one has lost all challenge and is purely in mop up phase. Because in the end, there was nothing he could do. The AI won't feed - my human allies did, and even if he pulled something out the bag and killed my fleet 1) I had a feed to rebuild and 2) I had allies who could jump in to attack with me. I didn't need to be in the other game, so I had the time to mop up, the others didn't. The end result is none of my allies ever want to play with him because of his never say die attitude...

@Centurion: I didn't say anyone could sue (in fact, I said the opposite), and I agree with your point. To clarify mine: this kind of action would merit lawsuits when taken out of the internet/gaming context and placed in the real world.

But just because the context IS gaming/internet, I don't think that automatically makes it okay.

@Hack: Publishing such accusations is libel - I'd say a public forum, which can be accessed by anyone, counts for that.

Also, what about people who are new to the game and don't know him? Are they supposed to take these denunciations at face value without having ever met the villains in question?

My main problem with this thread is that basically all of these denunciations are nothing more than opinion being stated as fact. I've seen no mention of replays, or any intent to post them.

Additionally, I wouldn't be surprised to see this slightly backfire for Howdidudothat, resulting in people refusing to play with him for fear of being blacklisted.

In any event, I am not forcing you to not play with the people listed above.  Make your own decision if you want to.  If replays start working, I will post them as they become available, as I mentioned before.  Unfortuately, there won't be any replays to post for people already on the list.

I don't think How would care - the people who don't know him would be the newer players who are still skilling up, and therefore not such a challenge for him. By the time they get good enough to play in skilled games, they would know How and know what he is like, and whether they weight his opinion or not....

what is wrong with not quiting when there is no chance of winning?  I HATE when players quit early.

edit:  I shouldn't use such harsh words.  I understand why they do it and can't really hold it against them.  But I'd perfer if they play a full game with me, especially when there are like 3 other  players and a small pretty-much-dead player is fun to have.

People get upset by quitters who are losing themselves, but quit without thought for the team (e.g. delaying tactics, waiting for support etc...). Quite often that one person is losing, but the team is winning, but them leaving means the team cannot do anything with that slot (e.g. feed, combine fleets etc...) and expect a predictable outcome due to the AI being uncontrollable (i.e. it is only suggestable).

This should not be confused with someone being an @$$ just for the fun of it when they have no support available and they are no longer servering their team (e.g. last person left). If for no other reason, this is annoying as people are not always available in the lobby - so when a game finishes, those players often go into a new one. If 6 players are still in a game (5 trying to get rid of that last 1), then those 5 cannot get into the new game and sometimes end up missing out due to getting out of sync with the people they are playing with...
