Deskscapes not working after reinstalling Windows

 

I think I may have caused this problem.. or at least aggravated it.

Ok. I had to reinstall Windows (vista Home Premium) and one of the first things I did was install impulse afterwards. The problem, I think, is that I had not deleted the program files for it before reinstalling (it is all installed on another harddrive)!

After reinstalling, all of the programs I have tried have worked besides deskscapes (including windowblinds).

A couple points:

-I have the normal vista look enabled (no blinds active)

-I have reinstalled several times with no change. (and restarted my PC each time)

-if I go to ‘desktop backgrounds’ it shows the video backgrounds, but If I click them nothing happens

-Aero is running, I can do the whole ‘3d window view’ thing

-if I right click the desktop there is nothing in the list about ‘play dreamscene’ (or whatever it is)

-I have verified the installation and it says it is installed correctly

 

Anyone have any clue what’s going on?

 

ETA: also if I go to a video folder and right click a video it DOES say 'set as desktop background'

noticed the other post (that I SOMEHOW missed?!?)...

 

Here are a few more details:

video card - ATI Radeon HD 2400 with newest official drivers (not beta)

dual monitors - Main monitor and secondary (through HDMI) to HDTV

I'm assuming I have any codecs I need because all videos will play and also stream through 360

 

Setup is the same as the last time I used deskscapes, 2 days ago (except the fresh install of windows)

 

ETA: I also did what is suggested here and here with no change.

ok... now nothing works from Stardock 'Object Desktop Ultimate' everything is popping up a log file about checking the serial number I've entered... everthing was all good and fine yesterday except deskscapes.

Under current registrations in Impulse it still shows 'Object Desktop Ultimate' good through Feb. 4th... but everything I click on now wants it's own serial... I go here and enter my email (correctly) and it sends me an email with NO serials "We have no products registered to this email address". Even though yesterday or the day before I entered the EXACT SAME email address and recieved the serials. (before having to reinstall windows, so I no longer have those emails).

 

I guess I'm contacting them later today when my PC and my brain are working... now, I sleep.

Your account somehow got split into two accounts, that is why you may have been having trouble.

The accounts ae now merged and you should be all set.
