Planet Quality exploit using Biosphere Modulator.

Here is an exploit I found interesting. Play as Altarians, research Precursor history and Divergent evolution. You'll get Biosphere Modulator, a one per planet project that increases planet quality. Build it, decomission it, build it, decomission, repeat this and planet quality will skyrocket. Well, no one forces players to to this, and AI won't do this but it still is tempting, and unbalances the game. I got PQ up to ninety-something, even tough there are "only" 72 tiles on planets. Maybe the PQ should drop after the BM is decomissioned or at least not grow after it is built again on the same planet (using a variable for every planet to remember, if that improvement was build on that particular planet so that PQ only grows once from it would somewhat solve the problem, but msking PQ drop to what it would be without BM if it is destroyed would be better).

What version are you playing?

This used to be a bug, but was fixed...I think in 1.95, actually, but maybe even before.

Also, just checked, and can't duplicate this in 2.01.  Can't decommission or overbuild it in my game.

I happened to look at it under 1.95, (Currently playing the same save game under 2.00) and no, it does not seem to allow decommissioning the bio-modulator.

My original post assumed you saved it in 2.00 and were playing it in 1.95-I'm now reading it as saving in 1.95 and playing in 2.00.  (If it's the former, all it proves is that it can't be done in 2.00.  If it's the latter, it proves that it can't be done in 1.95 and therefore most likely can't be done in 2.00, either.)

One way or the other, in at least one version other than 2.01, it's fixed.

Ah - Sole - I aint the guy - {G}.

I was just verifying that I happen to have looked at bio-modulators in a game crreated in 1.95 and saw no signs of those symptoms under either 1.95 or 2.00.

So it is fixed. Ok, good to know. My version of TA is outdated, I was just to lazy to get a patch.
