Twilight Imperium boardgame

Twilight Imperium boardgame

Hi,

I'm planning on buying this boardgame really soon. I've had it in my mind for quite some time and I'm decided now :)

I'm currently reading the rules on their website, and I'm starting to see some similarity between this and GalCiv2. Anyway, any of you have tried this board game? Is it good? Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance for your input.

i have read about this game the first time an used google to take a closer look.

looks like a great game. after i read it i have an hard decision now.

i have read that much people have axis and allies played too.

i have the first edition of A&A but i want to bux the Anniversaryedition of the game.

so what should i do: buy TE or AA50 ? :)

as like like teamplay i have another question: it is fun to play TE as teams ?

greets from germany. its hard to see that realy good games are aviable in english only :)

but its glad to see that i better understand english as i can write it ;)

in germany i had some problems to get the first A&A in a shop because of the swastika on the cover :)

the new version dont have something like that, so its no problem at all :)

Hum, axies and allies have less to do with each other. And that's TI not TE ;) (Twilight Imperium)

There's no real teamplay in TI, but the political part is really really important.

unicatsins:

A&A is more one-on-one. I think it's better for 2 players. But that's a personal opinion. TI is amazing if you are more than 2-3 people. It's free-for-all but you can make "alliances" with others for trading and political purposes. I wrote alliances with "" because they can be broken anytime... like when you backstab your ally haha.

I recommend to go read the rules. Fantasy Flight Games put the rules of their games in pdf online. That will give you a great idea.

 Luckmann:

I heard there is a way to play TI online, on forums. But I don't know where. Somebody knows?

Yep you can play TI with PBF (play by forum) but i've never done it and so can't really help you. A module for Vassal exists. Anyway Luckman when do you make your home move? I don't mean you're a turtle or something like that ... but lacking social entertainment in life is just .. so cruel ...

End of vieuxchat's quote
I have social entertainment.

It's called the Elemental Forums. Dance puppets, dance!

And the overall wiki should answer any question you may have ;)

Absolutely loved it the 2-3 times I played it. Nobody ever has time to actually play it though. :(
