File Post

Can someone post the C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\characters files somewhere. I'd really like to see the character models.

i don't want to play the beta. if u open the files in the aforementioned folder with granny viewer u can see all the models, including those that have not been implemented into the actual gameplay like vampire lord, queen of thorns etc.

......Why?

If you don't want the game, why should anybody give you the models?

- first, the characters folder doesn't have any subfolder for any unit that isn't in the game

- second, the subfolders in it are all empty: the files you ask are inside a zip file instead :)

- and last, the zip file DOESN'T have any unit that isn't in the game either, or at least not in an obvious place

just read this: http://www.gamereplays.org/Demigod/portals.php?show=page&name=hidden_material_demigod_beta

you'll see what i'm talking about;

and once again i don't necessarily want to play the beta, i just want to see the animations; if it's illegal for someone to send me the files then thats just fine!

Why do you want to see just the animations? I would rather recommend watching gameplay videos like this or when you really aren't sure if you want to buy it you may just wait until a demo of Demigod comes out.

by the way...going beyond the beta stuff....it it illegal to share disparate files of a game? (probably yes)

here's a portion of the EULA found in Demigod;

YOU MAY NOT:

1. Copy and distribute the SOFTWARE or any portion of it except as expressly provided in this Agreement.

2. Sublicense, rent, lease or transfer your personal serial number without express written consent from Stardock.

3. Sublicense, rent or lease the SOFTWARE or any portion of it.

4. Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or modify the SOFTWARE or any portion of it, or make any attempt to bypass, unlock, or disable any protective or initialization system on the SOFTWARE.

5. Copy the documentation accompanying the SOFTWARE.

6. Upload or transmit the SOFTWARE, or any portion thereof, to any electronic bulletin board, network, or other type of multi-use computer system regardless of purpose (except as provided for above for "mods").

7. Include the SOFTWARE in any commercial products intended for manufacture, distribution, or sale.

8. Include "mods" in any commercial products intended for manufacture, distribution, or sale.

End of quote

i'd say 'any portion' includes the animations, so you're correct; yes, it is illegal.

[EDIT:] damn, i can't hand-code quotes.

Then, has anyone tried the animations using the granny viewer?

Maybe I am to stupid to use the granny viewer, but I can't see anything there. But I can see all character models. There is also some sort of a flying skeletal. Probably this is one of the general's units.

The animations all work fine with the Granny Viewer. There are only two models, the ent and the spirit that are not currently in use in this beta.
