aethiests of the world unite

I am keen to set up a new more evangelical arm of the aetheiests movement to preach the no book message and allow all of those who dont believe in fairy stories to have our say. I am particulalry uninformed about most things and only really hold a strong belief that there is no god. What I need is intelligent people to fall in behind me , if we can get a nice modern round number (say 10) unapostles to support the cause and provide a basic understanding of the things I think I am refuting then it seems possible to build a bigger following and seek major contributions to the cause. Most of this we could I suppose give to good causes but I see no moral dilema in syphoning of a significant amount for our selves. If any one is interested could you write with a cv and reasons why we should all be aetheists (it has to be better than just quotting John Lennon) and I will then allow you to be in the first ten. It would be useful if one of the ten had a basic understanding of grammar and spelling.

Hey I was just thinking. The Agnostics and Spiritualist would love to join you as well ~grins~ They would like to see all religion wiped from the face of the earth, unfortuneately you can't do that without hurting others so nevermind. ~chuckles~ The end of the world will be here in 8yrs anways. It will take care of all of us ~grins~

I love you threead, and so does God, and in the end, that's all that matters! Why haven't you written anything else? I would like to understand more about who you are. Trinitie

I am an average Jock (from Scotland that is) - I dont wish to offend anyone but I am of the opinion that the world would be a better place with no religion -and probably other institutions. In the south west of Scotland (I am from the Highlands) it is quite acceptible (amongst some people) to hate and wish ill protestants or catholics and probably others -dependent on your own religion. Remember the protestants and catholics both believe that they are worshipping Jesus who basically said be nice to everyone. This is a bit rambling (I have the lurgi) but I guess my beef is with religion not belivers (I just happen to be an unbeliver).

If you're going to set up an atheist movement, the first thing you need to do is learn how to spell it or it may look kind of queer over your office door and on your signs. GCJ

Ok, I'm an athiest too, so hurray! But I also respect and appreciate those that can have faith enough to believe in a god, that takes alot, through times of hardship and good times. I don't have that kind of power, I don't want to believe that there can be some sort of force that loves us, but destroys us. I don't want there to be forces that pit man against man, we're better without them.

Threead, I believe in you. Care for some burnt offerings ?

You of course know about The Brights ? Google news releases too.

Interesting and Nice Concept.

I think in First World Countries, gradually, belief in science and human thinking will supplant belief in the supernatural, gods, demons, wizards, witches and angels. Ultimately, because it is more useful.

Some are simply not ready yet, and may not be in their lifetime.
