Wizop Directory and Site Issues

Proposing the Directory and Where is the latter???

I was thinking (a welcome, if painful change) "What might I contribute (not being artistically blessed) to WC?".

I would like to see a "Site Issues" in the Forum Categories.

I'd also like to suggest (if my '2 cents' isn't used up) a "Wizops Directory" so that if we need to ask guidance or call for help (not the "Report" button) we can do so more handily.

Please don't hit me, guys....and girls.

What site are you on?  Each site has such a forum.

The report button is for reporting abuse and a wide variety of people get alerted on use.  Each forum catagory has a list of forum moderators at teh bottom; from there you can email or private message?  And of course moderators are always watching the general posts.

Is there a gap that you see?  Can you describe it?

Yes.....The gap starts on the left side of my head and moves itself to the right side. It's right between my ears! See what WC has done to me!

I'm on WC, Zu. Apologies...  :X .

I just thought it'd be 'easier' than doing all the steps you described. It's also true that not all the wizops are around all the time....it was more of an 'organizational' thing.....make sense? It's ok to call me an idiot. I know there's a heck of a lot I don't understand/know about.

I can't find the "WC Site Issues" area that you describe...so I thought (nice for a change, huh?) maybe it should be in the Forum Categories listing area in the upper right corner...again, an "availability" thought....ie for 'buttons that don't work", or icon/avatar...whatever problems so that it might be easier (more available?) to get things fixed or see if there are others with similar problems who've already gotten an answer and lessen the 'burden' on the busy wizops/admin or tech support people....this making any sense?

Dr J....the site issues cat is actually under the "General Discussion" group. not all of the sub cats are shown on the menu on the right, There is also a listing of all of the mods for that particular category and the ability to pm them.

We couldn't hit you....you're our favorite Dr!:D

Dr J look at the top of the post and find where it shows you the navigation to this post.  It looks like this

Home > General Discussion >Community.

If you click on the arrow > just to the right of General Discussion you will get a list of all the General Discussion categories as selectable forum links.

So if I want to post something in the WC Site Issues area I go to the WC Home Page click on General Discussion and then click on the arrow I mentioned to select Site Issues.  And that's that.

Oh well still no edit function.  I also intended to indicate all of the Sub Categories of General Discussion are also listed on the bottom of the General Discussion page.  I like using the little drop down arrows at the top.

MickeyMowse: That was really kind of you. Thanks! I needed it! k6 :) I tried to vote ya some karma but the button's not working.  X|

BDBF: Thanks so much! Because I'm so darned ignorant about how this is supposed to work (and not proud of it) I happily go about reinventing the wheel. Great. Welllll....I'm a lot better at Medicine (I hope!  o_O   Oy!).

Zubaz: Thanks for your patience. I feel really dumb. 8|

If a forum has subcategories, theyre inconveniently  :X located at the bottom of the list of posts for a particular forum category. I've been pushing to move this list to the top of the page (like every other major forum out there) but we're extremely busy at the moment and I havent had time to follow up on the matter. Alas it's not a move I can make without consulting some folks.

Or...something like what vB does (on Aqua-Soft for example) is list the subforums in the forum description on the main forums page? Although a lot of the sections have a ton of subforums, could get messy.

Wow....There's a lot to learn in this here school!

BDBF: I like those drop downs too (now that I know they're there!). I just never paid that much attention to that area... sorta like "Sorry sir, your loved one corked because I didn't notice he turned blue."  :|

andrew: Thanks...made me feel less dumb.

bebi: wuzza vB? Aqua-Soft (a water softener?). I was just thinking of the main title. I didn't know the breakdown....so I didn't know where to look....I still think it can be organized better in a longer and broader drop down. You know, like the skin rating drop down ;P . Did I say that?

I think the original question was regarding a "status page" that provides information on site issues, problems and the such in a one stop shopping page. This page could be linked to the specific forum where "whatever" is addressed. It would not only provide information to us users but you wizops as well. I think everyone is in agreement that there are a lot of threads in the forums but not all of them are about system wide issues. I find myself getting frustrated about "something" and turn to the forums for help only to get frustrated sorting through all the threads. I usually just start a new thread which only compounds towards the number of threads posted.

vB = vBulletin, a popular and long-standing forum software.

Aqua-Soft.org = Mac emulation site that uses vB.

Well glad I could help out.  I learned about those by reading through a prior thread, wasn't so long ago either.  I used to try to find a post that was in the right category to navigate to the right forum category then start my own post so I would have it in the right spot. lol o_O

Then I read about the drop down function of those arrows and It's much easier. :-"

We learn from others.
