Impulse Update 08/25

In the next few hours the update for Impulse will be made available. A good many fixes are included in this update. However there have been a few cases where people have had trouble with Impulse fully downloading or applying the updates on this scale. If you should have any of the following:

-Very long periods of download time followed by a time out
-Total freeze up after the update
-The update does not appear to have applied

Then we highly suggest that you uninstall Impulse, restart, and download the latest version through here:

http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe
(NOTE: this download link does not contain the update UNTIL the update goes live)

These issues are not common I am very happy to say. However this is the very best way to correct them if you should experience them at all. If after this you still experience troubles with Impulse please let us know at support@stardock.com.

No, official Phase 2 will be a more announced update. This is just an update to current issues that have been reported.

I actually opened up Impulse yesterday - haven't run it since June

this time I just let it be for a couple of hours and it actually finally quit downloading latest info and let me click on various tabs to see what's there - got to see community, friends list, chat

I even got it to update the free odnt themes (didn't really need it but I wanted to see what would happen) that 18mb update took less time than downloading latest info

I'm kinda hoping Phase 2 will be somewhat more dialup friendly (yeah yeah I know....)

What fixes are included exactly?  Right now I seem to be downloading SR2 Complete without a hitch (crosses fingers) I sort of gave up on it but decided to try again after the update and want to know what fixed me (if I am indeed fixed).

Edit: Nope, I still get invalid token errors.   Sigh.

There are several improvements to the download manager portion of Impulse. Better recovery and restarting in case of disconnection. This will greatly help out the dial up connections out there.

You can see the list of changes though the "?" button in the top right corner > view Impulse history.

Can you post the token error message?

@Seabass - Roger, found that bout 15 minutes after I posted. Worse even is that I had found it before and forgot about it.

I just received the upgrade for impulse and now my program is not working correctly.  Iconpackage will not load at all, I'm unable to access user account to change the user picture.  The screen just flips and nothing load and changes.

Impulse would not (should not) affect those things.  Did you install, upgrade, or remove any other apps?

jdevans - do you get any specific error messages?

will this solve the issue of the paused impulse updates which cannot be resumed

Yes. That was one of the specific errors that was targeted by this update. If you still have troubles after downloading the update you may want to uninstall, restart, reinstall Impulse.

Have you tried uninstalling, restarting, then reinstalling to make certain that the update took hold as it is suggested above?
