Transparent menus corruption w/ WB6.2?

I've had a problem with WB6.2 that has occurred twice after using Vista-ize(tm) Me! and once just setting menu transparency.

After some amount of reboots, 2-5, the right click menu suddenly starts drawing black on black, but highlighting works correctly so the menus are still usable, if sometimes painful to use.

The only way to fix the issue is to delete the skin and reinstall.  This has happened to me with Diamond by Stardock Design and VITREX by Pixel-Z.

I don't know if it is related, but the issues started after I stopped using SD Central and started using Impulse.

Hiedran switching from using SDC to Impulse shouldn't have any thing to do with this. I have done that and have not had any problesm. I'm also on an XP system.

I have had this problem in the past, but not recently. Usually reapplying the skin or a reboot fixed the problem.

You did the one thing that I would had suggested, uninstalling and reinstalling the skins. One question though, after uninstalling did you run a clean up program like CCleaner and reboot, then reinstall. It's possible that the original download of the skin was bad, by not running a clean up program and rebooting it's possible that you just reinstalled picking up bad stuff that was left over.

If that doesn't work you might want to leave a comment on the skins page in the library.  ;)

I doubt the original download was bad, because the menu works perfectly for a while.

It might have something to do with my machine being a laptop and stuff getting confused when switching from LCD to dock, since I am using an Intel integrated graphics chip.

I figure switching from SDC to Impulse was just coincidence, but I threw it in for completeness.

Btw, it's really hard to redownload a skin that comes bundled with WB, such as Diamond by StarDock Design. When that corrupted, I had to uninstall WB and reinstall. I've since archived WB so if that skin ever gets corrupted I will go back to the archive version.

Thanks for the ideas. CCleaner might fix it, though I doubt it as I use it regularly to keep my registry cleaned up.

Hiedran you are welcome. You might just have to email support@stardock.com and explain the problem.  ;)
