The download.com ver didn't work for me.

Download.com version is working fine for me on 2 Vista Ultimate x64 boxes.

Hope the feedback helps SeaBass

At this time we have not found anything that would cause Ultimate to have troubles over the other editions but we have passed this information along. If I find anything I will be happy to post about it.

It actually appears it is not an Ultimate exclusive thing but more of a .NET thing. Two things we are recommending you try:

-click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.
-If UAC is enabled, click 'Continue'
-Type: sfc /scannow
-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)
-When the scan has completed, it should give you some feedback as to the result

If this is terribly bogged down then your system has some critical errors to it and might need further help.

You can also try using the following utility to clean .NET framework from the machine.  Once is does, reinstall .NET manually or through Windows Update:

Having/had the same problem as the others using Vista Ultimate x64. Uninstalling/reinstalling via Impulse did nothing. The download from download.com however is working just fine for me. I am doing the scanning right now to see what else is going on.

Did both versions you downloaded display the same version number?

Ok well to check this out:
the one from download.com displays in it's about box as 1.0.0, impulse displays it as 1.00.002

Impulse notifies me there is an update, so I figure to answer your question I would try the update, impulse identifies it as 1.00.a[a].017 don't know what the about box says as when I try to start the updated logonstudio vista it once again just crashes.

I have done the cleanup as suggested a couple posts ago, have not yet uninstalled/reinstalled the .net framework yet, going to try that next.

EDIT:
Well used the cleanup tool for .net framework, tried LS Vista via impulse... no go
Installed new .net framework 3.5, tried LSV again, no go
Installed LSV from download.com, works just fine.

When I say I tried LSV, I mean I uninstalled & reinstalled it each time and each time it
just crashes. v1.00.002 [aka v1.0.0] from download.com gives me no errors and works just fine.

There are updates available through Impulse for this that should address the crashing.  The update also adds Win 7 support, which is nice.

The current version of LogonStudio Vista works perfectly for me (Vista HP SP2 32 bit). I did have a problem with the previous version which prevented the Load/Save functions working, but that's been cured with the latest version. Super programme
