Is it possible to have currently active window marked in taskabr?

Hi guys.

Maybe it should go to wishlist or it's already supported by OD+ (I use free version) or simpy I'm just stupid. But is it possible to have somehow marked currently opened window in OD taskbar? For example in traditional XP's taskbar, currently active window's button looks like being "pressed".
When I open many windows for same type of aplication, sometimes it's easy to be lost in OD which icon represents current window until I scroll on all of taskbar's icons and check their titles. Do you know any workaround for this?

maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't the currently opened window be the one you were looking at before you started looking for it on ObjectDock?

Good one, but if decide to switch from current to other windows and then I want to return back to 1st one, it will be nice to know its position in taskbar not browsing all of them ;o)

since once you switch, that one then becomes 'current'?


have you tried using the 'thumbnail representation' option? works pretty good when zoomed.

Set OD to group taskbar items, then when click the grouped icon you will have a menu with all the titles for them.

Bichur, I'm surprised you don't get why this what I'm looking for can't solve my problem.
Do you have only 2 windows opened with FreeCell and MineSweeper? ;)
In my work I use 15 instances of same application. When I switch from one represented for example as 3rd "pressed" button on taskbar to many different windows and then I want to return to the original window, I already know that I should search for it at the begining of taskbar because it was marked as 3rd window. I don't need browsing all 15 in two rows of buttons!

Do you mean representation of minimized windows with screenshot? Unfortunately not, because all of 15 mentioned instances are remote terminal sessions which are to similar to recognize them on taskbar.
And of course you have to minimize all of windows which is not comfortable. What if you alt+tab'ing ?

Sorry mate but I really don't like this option and I don't need OD to do grouping. It's supported by original XP's taskbar so OD doesn't add anything new here ...and most important ... grouping option doesn't occur in free OD (yeah I know - I'm a cheapskate)

The funny thing is that this what I'm looking for is a really basic thing which exist in almost every OS taskbar and I'm really surprised it doesn't exist in OD :) Don't you think?

OD+ has an indicator...actually it has several different ones you can choose from. It also allows for attention signals.(what would be taskbar flashing)

because what you just explained is completely differen than what you posted.

You're looking for a way to easily determine where on ODFreeloader the window you want is located


So for the freeloader version I'm guessing what needs to be asked for is for opened windows, apps, etc., to line up in the order they're opened - same as the regular taskbar. None of this show the 2nd one opened to the left of the 1st one opened, show the 3rd one opened to the left of the 2nd, show the 4th one to right of the 1st, show the 5th one in the middle, do the hokey pokey and click until you find it.

Thanks Lantec. You may be right. I really don't know how it looks like in + version (There is no demo on Stardock site so can't check). But in free version this indicator got only function of attention signals which you've mentioned. So it marks current window but only when warnings occur, but doesn't mark permanently during "normal" avtivity.

Yes I do! Is it so strange? And that's why marking as "pressed" button is useful :).
Is it really different of what I've posted before? Take a look at the topic mate :) I don't expect miracle algorithm in OD to predict which next window I'm going to open :) Just like to see in taskbar which icon represents current window. It helps to store in my mind a map of all opened windows. Belive me, it's easy to be lost when you got tens of them opened. And sometimes you want to quickly switch between windows and not waste time for opening many of them and saying to yourself: not this, not this, not this.... ahhh gotcha! As I said - I'm not talking about something unusal - I don't belive that you've never looked at XP taskbar for your currently active app.

I got the feeling that you still don't understand what I'm talking about Bichur. But nevermind, don't want to argue. Cheers.
