Bought Sins when It first came out, whats changed?

Hiya folks,

Its been a long long time since I played sins, I did enjoy it when I played way back but I dunno while the action was great I kinda felt it lacked something, maybe it was the lack of a campaign?

Either way Im not wanting to discuss the campaign thing as its been discussed one million times + make no mistake I in general find strats boring period however I loved the large maps on sins and felt the devs really did get the strategy right on an EPIC scale, what I didnt like , well dont like about every other strat out there more or less is that its all about a limited build order rush strategy and that is the sole way to gain veterancy at them. Now Im not saying rushing doesnt take skill , it does in many cases its just when all you get in a game is the rush then it seriously limits everybodys strategys permenantly if they want to win.

So anyway I was wandering what changed , you know I cant even remember what patch I used I think maybe only 1.02 if that. Has there been any additions which add more variety to the game, whats been nerfed? Im guessing alot, I hate nerfs but they are what happens to counter people that try to find ways to borderline exploit units and their abilitys and everyone suffers longterm. If people can be honest about it well has the nerfs improved the game? How is the game as a whole now? better than 1.02 , in what ways maybe throw in comparrisons to what factions have it bad these days? When I played TEC was the weakest faction hands down. (Sure people could still do okay with them , but not if they were playing someone who knew how to use advent :) , vasari I felt were also a bit better than TEC when I played but actually at that time I would say they were the most balanced faction)

So what are peoples views now? Fire away :) as I havent played for a bit and was thinking of getting into the game again

Cheers!

Why ask people to do your work for you?  ;p  You can read can't you? Head on over to the Beta Feedback forums to see what's cooking!

Thanks Kikun. Also Monk I was looking for user feedback on how they found the game, I see a fair bit of negativity on these forums which is why I am interested in both sets of views because the forum was alot more friendly when I played away in the past.

How does asking a question on a forum have anything to do with being a smart bum troll and asking me if I can read? Sorry I just get sick of this on forum after forum which gets ruined by trolls. Forums are for asking questions and if knowone asked them and stayed away the company would be out of dam business.

Sure I will check the changelog etc but is it to much to ask to get responses on forums without smart ass remarks these days?

What negativity are you hearing? Other than a few balancing changes that some folks have objections to, improvements are always for the better.

AI is doing a lot better than it did at release. A good number of bugs have been patched up. Unfair AI was added for extra challenge. More variation in game options was added, so you can toggle things like pirates, small/normal/large fleets (-25% fleet points for small, +25% for large), culture spread speeds, build speeds, etc individually rather than a global "slow, normal, fast" setting.

I would say those are really the major impvorements between 1.02 and 1.05, 1.1 is obviously adding a bunch more.

Oh, and some really good mods had time to develop between release and now :)

redwing26,

Just like everyone has the right to ask a question. Everyone reading that question has the same right to respond (as long as neither violates said forum's TOU).

I answer many questions on these forums each day, I felt yours was rather trivial considering the availablility of all previous "changelogs" etc.

So.....I stuck in a light "jab", linked you to the "Beta Feedback" forums and left it at that.  ;)

done.

Can't say I know what I'm talking about (since I bought the game very recently), but seeing how you can adjust the fleet sizes - it greatly reduce the ability to quickly eliminate the opponent. As it simply reduces the firepower for everyone, yet keeping the defensive power intact.

Hmm, time to try that out. XD
