Question about Sins "Copy Protection"

With all the talk about Spore and Mass Effect's copy protection, it got me thinking, about my upcomming vacation:

 

I leave on vacation in a couple weeks.  I usually take a game or 2 to play on my friend's Lan while gone.  I want to take Sins, install it, show it to him (and his friends/family), play the game with them via a Lan, but, can I?  I've already installed it on my 2 computers here, so can I install it on a third to play while I'm at another location during my vacation?

That will be fine, to play the game via LAN between your laptop and his machine, etc. Just make sure to remove it from his machine when you leave.

Also if you hit the max activation error log later on you will need to email us in support. Be sure to keep this thread around as when someone like me looks up the IP addresses and sees them all over the place it would raise questions.

This isn't as harsh as it sounds. We are just careful not super strict. We will be happy to help you out if you have any troubles.

Heck, I'll even send you his email address in advance if need-be (private mail of course) to make sure, cause I'm sure we will have to patch it up to 1.5

(And, btw, we are now able to finish Lan games here since 1.5  :D )

What is "Max Activation" anyway?

Well the email won't work unless it is your account email of course.

Max Activations is where the system will shut you down (as far as activations are concenred) once you break a threshold of activations. Activating too many times too quickly, or from lots of random locations will cause the system to think that lots of people are trying to activate the same serial/account, or the serial number has been shared to people all over the place. These are just precautions we take to not only secure our sales but more importantly take precautions about our customers account integrity. After all if someone had your info you would want to know about it right?

You are premitted to activate as many times as you like. However when the threshold is met you have to contact us at support to have it evaluated and reset for you.
