I'm not talking about an "Empire" which, AFAIK is a group of people who post their scores and competes with other "Empires" to have the highest score.

I'm talking about a sort of tag team. Here's how it might work:

+I start a game, do the colony rush and ect. set the strategy and maybe win a few early proxy wars
+Then my teammate takes over and sweeps the rest of the enemies and cleans up.

As I understand it, I can post savegames (presumably through a host site) and then someone else can load the game and play it as if it was his own

The thing is I get bored really easy over managing dozens of planets, it's not enough action for my taste, but I can imagine someone who loves all of the finiky details and handling massive fleets of ships. Obliviously we'd have to agree on a strategy we're both good at and a race, ect. and so on

Is anyone interested?

I think what you're talking about could also be called a co-op, and I find the basic idea very interesting.

The problem is matching up crews who have complementary tastes for map settings and game phases. It sounds like you and I both enjoy the rush phase, which I've seen derided by more than a few posters around here. But the only folks I can imagine "enjoying" late-game micromangement (at least on the larger maps that I prefer) are the true scoremonsters, and I have no idea what they'd think of a co-op.
