How to install mods

Can someone please help me out! ive been looking all over for ways to actually install the mods on my game. But it says I need to look for a folder (the mods folder) and ummm I dont have one. :SNIFF!: So can someone tell me How to install the mods and how to find this folder. Please tell me if you guys can download mods I can i just need help thanks. :)

I have updated to 1.04 but how do I get hidden files and folders on? Explain in detail not to good with this stuff (and I have vista)

I got the hidden files and folders thing but I still do not see a mods folder should I create one. should I repair the game? And also I see a folder called SD plugins could that be it?

Go into the game, then into the Options menu. There go into the Mods submenu. There click on show mod folder (something like this, don't remember the exact name). This will show you the location of your mod folder.
