SOLAR SINS (7 DEADLY SINS MODULE) ver 2.0 RELEASED!!!

"MY GOD...its full of STARS...and Black Holes!

Greetings All,

Well, this has been a long time coming, the release of the 2.0 version of SOLAR SINS, part of my mod 7 DEADLY SINS.  SOLAR SINS is like to stars and stellar bodies what Uzii's SINS PLUS is to planets.  SOLAR SINS will concentrate on all things stars and stellar related objects.  SOLAR SINS will add features such as more stars to choose from, COLONIZABLE stars, with the ability to have more than one star per system, black holes, DYSON spheres, Ringworlds, new storms and nebulaes, and maybe even comets.  This mod will be available both as a stand alone mod as well as part of the next release of my main mod 7 DEADLY SINS.  This link for download is below:

http://files.filefront.com/Solar+Sins+207z/;11723763;/fileinfo.html

Sins 1.05 compatible.

11 New Planets - 8 from Sins Plus

6 SYSTEM stars, including a white star and a Black Hole, and each star has alternate colors and textures.

5 Colonizable Stars - Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, White (these are rare, with lots of resources)

2 fully funtional Black Holes, and yes, they will "eat" your ships!

New skybox backgrounds, including deepspace and matching nebulaes to go with the color of the stars - part of Sins Enhanced

Weapon Graphics by Bailknight, WLD, and DANMAN.  Graphics are on par with lower end systems.  A HIGH END version will be coming soon!

All races and gameplay same as "vanilla", as this is just a graphical and planatary body mod.

 Here are some screenshots!  Enjoy!

This is one custom made map, with 1 main star in the center.  The rest you see are all COLONIZABLE stars.  Just like in 2001 Space Odessy, "MY GOD...ITS FULL OF STARS!!!"

Here is a closeup in the same system of a "Rogue" blue star:

Here is a view in the system showing multiple stars at once:

Here is my "White Dwarf":

Could you post what sort of changes you did?

I'm a little confused - what is the difference between Solar Sins and 7 Deadly Sins?
@ Maldon, yes it is compatiable with 1.04 :)

@ Tsear, Solar sins adds colonizable stars, more spatial anomolies, and soon, black holes!  :d

@WebReg, Solar Sins is a standalone mod that adds stars and other phenomina found in space. 7 Deadly Sins is a major compilation of Solar Sins, Baliknights graphical enhancement, Uzii's Sins Plus, and a few more mods, like a new race, the Atlantians. In short, its just a bunch of mods put together to form one big mod.  :HOT:

@UEF Soldier,

That is what I thought but ...

... and the size of the download make me think that Solar Sins includes everything that is in 7 Deadly Sins plus a few extra bits.

7 Deadly Sins not only includes those, but a new race aswell. Plus more to come, like more races.

Essientally Solar Sins deals with all stellar objects, eg. stars, black holes...

7 Deadly Sins puts Solar Sins together with other mods, like the Atlantian race.

I believe he included the other mods with Solar Sins because they contribute to the graphical aspect, and with the spatial aspects.

For now, the bulk of 7DS is Solar Sins, with all that it incorporates, and a new race. This is just the foundation though, and he's been tring to get permission for other mods to be included, and new factions will be avaliable... eventually  ;p

so 7DS = Solar Sins + Atlantians
atm, but more is going to come.

Thanks for sticking up for me.

OK, to clear things up.

SOLAR SINS = 7 DEADLY SINS - ATLANTIANS.

Period. Everything else is there, minus the new race.
When Uzii was doing SINS PLUS, SOLAR SINS was going to be a add-on to SINS PLUS. But now that Uzii is gone, I put the two together.

Now, as a workaround for now, if you just want SOLAR SINS - the stars, but keep Bailknight's stuff and the new textures and skyboxes, then go into the gameinfo folder, and delete all the ROGUE STAR entrys. This will give you the new SINS PLUS.

By the way, the main thread for this is on the 7 DEADLY SINS PAGE.

I meant, could you say what some of the new properties stars have are, whether you have to research to colonize them, that sort of thing.

There are multiple stars. Rouge Blue to Rouge Red, to White even.
Each star has a varing amount of resource asteroids. But i've seen some Rouge Red stars with 6 crystal and 2 metal asteroids.
Yes, there is a research to them, a lv. 6 research, that also allows you to colonize gas giants aswell as stars.

Sorry if I sounded like I was having a go at you - I wasn't at all.
I was just genuinely confused and looking for clarification - I understand now - thanks.

Not a problem, and my comment was really a thanks for UEF Soldier for commenting on my behalf. You didn't offend me at all. I undertand your question. I hope you enjoy my mods!

It's fine that it takes you to another site. As for the file type, you need either WinRar or 7Zip to open it.

I get a crash and minidump as soon as the pirates leave their base. I have the mod files unpacked to C:\Documents and Settings\Shugojin\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods and it is enabled to run at startup. I have version 1.05 of Sins.

Little help here? (I'm unsure where to put the minidump file or what to do with it...)

Hi, I downloaded and it is lovely. But I see some "String not found"s in my map list for single player games. How do I find those strings for the poor thing?

Also, it mini-dumped me early a 6 player game (me and computers). I tried to shift-move into a neighbouring asteroid with a capital and some light frigates. Probably just a lack of ram or processing power, though.

Anyway, thanks.

Will this work with the beta?  I'm guessing no....

Looks great though,

Hello everyone,

Just to clarify things, this is a STAND ALONE MOD, and is a stripped down version of 7 DEADLY SINS.  So, if you already have 7 DEADLY SINS active, don't use this mod.  This is for those players who do not like all the races and custom sounds and effects of 7DS, but do like all the planets and stars I have in 7DS.  You CANNOT have more than one mod running at once, as this will produce the errors that you all seem to be getting.

I hope this helps,

DANMAN

I really enjoy this mod also, however, I keep getting mini-dumps in the first 10 minutes of every game.

Are you running a non-English version? If so, you should rename the English.str file to you language version.
