Monitor Control

Two Computers Two Monitors with a hitch

There is a feature on the add a secondary machine screen called Monitor Control (Shares With).

I think the implication is this:

Monitor 1 - Monitor 2
|...........|......|
comp1 Comp2

The diagram is attempting to show one monitor connected to Computer1 and both monitors connected to computer2. The drop down choices under monitor control imply that this is possible but there is no mention in the documentation.

So, is it possible?

Thanks,

Drew

Monitor control is when you have ONE secondary monitor connected to BOTH PCs (through two different connection types [dvi, etc]).
Crazy, huh?

That's great. It's exactly what I want to do. Time to crawl under the desk. :)

Can someone explain this feature better? I currently have 2 systems plugged into a 24" monitor via dvi and vga but right now I just use one in a pip display.. what do this feature do exactly?

Let's see if this works:

{monitor1}     {monitor2}     {monitor3}
        |                      |                       |
        |                      |                       |
         \                    /\                       /
   VGA  \                /    \                   / VGA
             \             / DVI\               /
               \          /          \           /
                 {PC1}            {PC2}

So . . {monitor2} would act as teh second, extended monitor to whichever PC had focus.  Monitor 1 and 3 would be static to thier PC and #2 would switch.  It's very, very cool.

Each PC needs to have a VGA and DVI connection.
