Will bootskin work on my pc??

I just heard a lot of problems with installing this app... like unable to boot etc. I don't want to take the risk of crashing my pc, so I'm just wondering if its possible for someone to tell me if it will work on my laptop. MSI VR320 H4 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) Intel® Core™Duo T2450 2.0GHz, 2Mb, 533MHz 1.0Gb DDR2 667MHz 80Gb SATA ATI Radeon X200m—Hybrid

It's not so much all the hardware, Bootskin doesn't like certain BIOS. If there is an error and it doesn't boot, all you need to do is boot into safe mode, reset bootskin to the default XP bootskin, and it should be fixed.

for me so far:

it had absolutely no effect for a couple of years - I turn it on, reboot = no effect
so I turn it off - try it out every once in a while just to see

2 wks ago, turned it on - .03sec of BSOD > immediately rebooted it self > 0.3sec of BSOD > rebooted it self, etc == 1st screen came up, F8 safe mode - set bootskin to xp default - reboot = I'll try the other 2 versions again later

So you're telling me that its safe to install in my PC?

BTW:: I have installed "Vista Inspirat 2", a bricopack (www.crystalxp.net)
wondering if could have an effect...

Bricopack? Is that like a transformation pack? I don't trust those things...it might have a conflict, don't know enough to be sure.

no guarantees on safe... have no idea on your BIOS or set up - thats one of the reasons Bootskin is unsupported and has not been updated in years

I'm thinking you will have a conflict - stardock apps use windows files - transformation packs hack those files

and there have been a few posts here with conflicts of transformation packs and stardock apps.. transformation packs and system updates... and even trying to uninstall those packs to get back to system defaults
