Another Classic theme problem......

I just recently purchased and installed the program. When I try to apply a theme is just goes to the classic theme but the color changes when I try a different theme. Some help with this would be much appreciated.

Did you reboot? (I had the same problem when I installed after a rebuild)

I've tried rebooting several times. I've also uninstalled and downloaded SDC and installed it through that and robooted again.

did you uninstall all previous versions that might have been on your system?

Any other customization software? I know some of the Vista clone packs out there have caused conflicts with Windowblinds. Some left patched/hacked dlls on computers even after uninstall.

I don't believe I had any other software on here.

Follow this link and download the ODNT Component Zapper This will COMPLETELY uninstall Windowblinds and allow you to start over fresh. The reason I recommend this is because you have a newer build version than I currently use, however one of your files is older than mine. This can mean a borked install.

Once you've uninstalled, re-install using Stardock Central. You may want to completely remove it and reinstall it fresh first too.

are you installing from a stand a lone download link or through SDC manager?

What version ATI drivers are you using?

I had this problem or something very similar - I am suspicious because I recently upgraded to the new version of AVG Internet Security - version 8.

Could not switch skins - it only reverted to classic or a bizarre mixture of classic and the skin I wanted.

My solution: Uninstall Windowsblinds, disable AVG resident shield temporally - reinstall Windowsblinds - cange a skin, re enable AVG.

Worked like a charm after I tried everything else. Looks like some anti-virus programs may not be playing nice with Windowsblinds or vice-versa...

Diamond12a makes a good point.......whenever you install or update any Stardock software you should temporarily disable your firewall/antivirus. Anything that blocks scripts will effect your installation.

I tried uninstalling, killing my antivirus and firewall and reinstalling..... no change unfortunately
