Help Starting LAN Game

I have one copy of Sins and am trying to start a LAN game on two computers in my network.  I am able to see and create a game on either computer, but when I try to join, I get the following error message "You don't have the files needed for this game."  Any ideas on what the problem is or how to fix?

Stop running whatever MOD/custom map you're running on the host pc.

Should it matter if i have trinity and my friends only have Sins?? does version matter??

Version is the most important thing when it comes to connecting.

It shouldn't matter as long as everyone only loads regular Sins.  In your main Sins folder where the game is installed you should find .exe's for each version of the game:

Sins of a Solar Empire.exe

Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment.exe

Sins of a Solar Empire Diplomacy.exe

If you all want to play together and one guy has vanilla Sins only then you all want to open Sins of a Solar Empire.exe.
