Stardock Central Wont Log In

Hey all

 

About 95% of the time my Stardock Central wont connect to the server. It will be verifying the connection and wont connect. Its allowed through firewall, and im running vista ultimate sp1\dual booting with xp pro. Now this only seems to happen under vista (now all vista bashers can rejoyce). I consider myself very pc savy but this has got me stumped. As this is the only program that i have issues with. Any ideas or suggestions (aside from removing my vista install) would be appreciated.

Is this the 1001 error or does it simply drop out on you? Have you tried the basics of deleteing the cookies from your internet explorer? Or just uninstalled and reinstalled?

In Vista, try turning off User Access Control (UAC) also check for any other 'security' apps running in the background.

Instead this is the issue in my XP sp.2
installing Stardock Central on the first lunch:
"Failed to initialize XML data please reinstall the application to correct the problem"
I already deleted the cookies + tried to reinstall SC
May I have some help ?

I have the same issue with Vista 32 home premium SP1.
It gives me the 1001 message when trying to connect. In fact I cannot acces any Stardock related servers using Firefox, Safari or IE7 neither.
The only thing I have installed lately in addition to SP1 is AVG internet security 8.0 but when switched off the result remains the same.
Any ideas?
