Normally 26 is max but you can select a racial PQ ability bonus that will increase this as well as get a planet colonization event that can give up to a 50% PQ bonus.

There also have been random monster planets that have happened paricularly around Primus. There was a screenshot around here somewhere of a PQ54 that occured *without* a planet colonization PQ event.

However we can't search anymore so I can't even try to find it.

I tried taking the planet once, it really messed with my economy since it had such a huge production vs. such a small population (due to the whole invasion thing).

Well, after all Cyberia IS a starting PQ27 - and i didn't see any problems into giving the Cyberdisc race such a huge edge from the beginning. Spotless too, btw!

Which is probably why i made a number of PQ22++ also for a number of key "secondary" giants for any of the other X-Worlds races. I'll admit that Globulae at PQ29 is bit of an exaggeration. So, there - honesty never hurts. PQ--1 are just slicky-gimmy-funny.

Call me a true Isolationist with tactical surface tiles to spare.

Strategy wise it makes perfect sense to enforce relatively strong custom systems (knowing the natural limit is FIVE nearby planets only.) - while not forgetting to squeeze a few extremes just for kicks. In fact, Morphine & Virus are somehow real Toxic stuff.

Don't be fooled, lots of thoughts went in these designs - latest being, the true Geoscapes of X-Com to replace the general Earth-like with some strangely drawn planets. Next XW-Planets zip file, i'll put them in. Plus a few more biggies.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you talking about?

A random occurance of High PQ planets distributed in colonizable assets is one thing... purposely designing custom systems for custom races with these balancing factors, another.

Nasty's comment about the PQ29 - reminded me about the whole process of selecting these numbers for each and every planets of the 36 races you can find in X-Worlds. IF you have actually D/L'd it, you understand what this is all about.

Ah, so you are talking about a mod you made, gotcha. Sorry for my confusion, your comment seemed to come out of left field and so it threw me off.

Sooooooo true :) -- in fact, right after i'm done with all of this work on X-Worlds i may even get into ANOTHER new mod that's been creeping up my thoughts since the beginning of my adventure(s) with GC (dating back from well over three years, btw); Compendium of Super-Heroes!

You may say, i really do LOVE planet surfaces and how they impact the whole gaming experience of others rather than just plain me only... i believe any serious mod MUST provide as much as possible to people - including specific (colorful, big and small, low PQs and gaz giants of 1 tile, etc!) planets and some specially designed fleet of ships.
X-Com is a fantastic context which truly fits GC storyline (even if slightly altered); just the tech-trees i'm working on right now is proving to be incredibly fun to modify - if you should know, there will be stuff like **Autopsies & Interrogations** inserted EVERYWHERE to slow (more like grinding to an halt it may seem!) down the default paths in some key places and tricky nodes.
More so, the TA multiples should open up a whole scope beyond anything i can possibly imagine -- yet. ;)
