My two cents on the future of SD Central...

One word, Steam. I would really love to see SD Central head a way where the application is more integrated. As with Steam, all the purchases is done within the client itself, and no need for a third-party system to handle all the licences. All this is combined with a neat GUI, a clean GUI preferable. Maybe update the demoes to the latest versions. But provide a limited edition. A way things could have been done, is that all apps released from Stardock is required to be installed through the client app. Maybe provide an offline installed, but it is the "client" that installes, and the "app" is added to the client.

By doing this, I think Stardock can provide a platform that is faster to apply updates/upgrades to, easier to maintain licences, etc., a better client (not the Windows 98-ish look used today) and can easily being developed over time into a more feature-rich client.

The one thing I hate with the things is handled when it comes to trial versions, is that they don't show up in SD Central, and don't recieve the updates. I would imagine that is would be alot better to limit userabilities with an client similar to Steam.
This will, as I think, increase the credibility Stardock has as an publishing platform. Not that Stardock isn't a credibility company today. I just love their work!

Sum up:
Cleaner GUI
Simpler GUI
Easier updates
Faster updates
Easier to maintain trail versions.
A future platform capeable of easier improvements.
Easier accountmanagment

My two cents...

Yes, I believe that's the general idea behind Impulse. Whether it accomplishes all those goals, however, remains to be seen. ;p

Nice :) But I hope the infrastructure get more combined. Regarding serials, and the online forums, and the Stardock account, and last, the store.

It seemed quite Vista-ish. Announced for Windows XP?

Just installed Impulse. Looks really great. Maybe remove the InstallAware Wizard in the topic.
