No updates on Weather Docklets

Running ObjectDock+ 1.90 build 537u Beta on Windows XP Pro SP2 with IE 7, WMP11, Windows Security Center disabled, Windows Firewall Disabled, System Restore and Indexing services disabled, ZoneAlarm Free 5059, TweakUI v 2.10.0.0, Autopatcher 5.6.0.81,a bunch of services disabled that I don't need, FreshUI and XSetup Pro v6.6 installed also. on an ACER TM6000 accessing the internet via dial-up connection on an Agere AC97 Modem. Weather docklet(s) do(es) not update after having been connected to internet for more than one hour. OD+ has been unloaded and restarted. New Weather docklet is created and does fine the first run and after reboot and reconnection to internet, no joy. Internet is NOT connected at all times. Will not update whether or not ZA is running. Any Suggestions?

I wonder if OD checks if there is a connection and if not, stops checking.

I dunno.  Sorry.

Consider this a bump.

Dial up means that you are not connected to the internet all the time. Are you? That might be your problem right there. Zubaz is right I think it stops checking when there's no connection.

That is correct. It needs an active internet connection to update.

After a failed connection . . does OD stop checking or will it check again after a set amount of time?

I have seen others ask the same question in other posts about this, but I don't recall a definite answer being given. 20 minutes was a guess by one poster. But, I don't believe that was a known quantity.

It's not just happening on the free version as SO many other replies to other posters have said. I guess I'll just have to get off my lazy butt and look outside, or look around for other weather docklets.

Otherwise, this is a much improved product since 1.20. Medium size footprint in memory (20.1 MB) for just one tab and the Systray running on the bottom. It has four flyout menus and ten other icons. I may have to test more tabs vs. flyout menus and compare the memory footprint.

Off topic (sort of) My wife doesn't like to "borrow" my computer now. It doesn't have any icons on the desktop. It just shows the background which changes every 24 hours. Usually the cover or inside pages of comics that I had scanned years ago and can finally fully see them on my 'puter. She can't find anything now if she wants to use it, because there ain't no "Start" bar. :) (I told her, wait till I get my Ubuntu OR Suse Linux working properly).

Thanks for the replies.

After a failed check I think it waits for you to activate it again (IE clicking on it).

Right-clicked and choose "Update now" from the menu (while connected to the web)?

No Such Option on the right-click context menu. :(

OOOPS! Added another new weather icon and this one has "Update Now" along with three other options. The others that I had added only had two options "This dock >" and "Dock Entry Properties". Neither of which would give me anything closely related to "updating". Sorry to waste ya'll's time.
Thanks for the replies. Issue resolved.
I don't have to get off my lazy butt now. :)
