New Forum Software not working right for me

I'm having a couple of problems with the new forum software. It may be that the software is still being updated, since the forum just came back online a short bit ago.

Anyhow, I made a post in the strategy forum and noticed that the text box on my IE 7 is now very tiny (as in no more than a couple dozen characters visible. I decided to just copy and paste the text from a notepad window, but then after I posted, all of the paragraph formatting was gone. Now, I cannot edit the post to try to fix this. When I try to edit in IE7, I get that tiny text box, and if I try to edit in Firefox, the text box is fine, but the changes do not seem to be saved in the post.

Because of these problems, my post is quite hard to read (was supposed to be 3 paragraphs, now 1). It's like the forum is reading the post like HTML and not reading carriage returns, but I tried adding in a
tag with no effect.

Is this just my problem?

[EDIT] See if this edit works. I think the problem with the lost formatting in my post was my fault. I forgot that IE has a tendancy to loose paragraph formatting in .txt files. The problem was that the edit window in the forum was so small that I couldn't proof the post.

Now the real problem is the fact that I cannot edit the post, and I figure that's due to a feature that has not been fully implemented as of yet.

Love the look of the new software, BTW.!!!

[EDIT #2] I'm betting its a matter of some part of the new software not operational yet. I can edit my top level post, but I cannot edit my reply. Also, the edit system for my top level post here looks completely different for the reply edits. I betting some aspects of the system are still going to the old forum, but we're seeing the new forum. Bet it'll be fixed when the admins finish setting up the new system.

Really like the new software. It's lightning fast compared to the old forum, for me at least.

I'm having the exact same problem, I just added a multiple paragraph post into the "what to add for 1.03" post, and none of the carriage returns showed up. No idea how to fix it, unfortunately...I tried everything I could think of, and nothing altered the post.

Well, the edit worked on my top level post. Glad to see I'm not the only one with the problems. Not glad for you, Marmoset, obviously. Just glad it's not something on my end causing it. [EDIT] now lets see if this edit works. Carriage Returns? Yay, they work!.

Hmm, I don't think the problem was your original editing. I posted in firefox, and I know all the text was properly edited. I think there's some bugs in the current forum post system.

What browers and what versions?  Please be as specific as possible when posting bugs.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox version 2.0.0.12 ...and the problem still seems to be affecting me.

Oh...and is there some way to artificially add a carriage return into these posts, other than hitting the enter key? If so, I can just do that.

I'm using Internet Explorer 7, version 7.0.5730.11, and Firefox version 2.0.0.2 Problem seems to be with replies, as my top post was fine and I can edit it fine.

I'm also using Mozilla's Firefox 2.0.0.12 and having problems posting carriage returns between paragraphs. Here's an example. My paragraph #1. My Paragraph #2. My Paragraph #3. There should be a line between each of the three sentences above. If not, then the carriage returns are not being accepted from a Firefox browser for some reason.

looks like adding < br> at the end of my paragraph will create the linebreak, posting from latest Firefox 2.0.0.12.
Note I added extra space between < and br to display the html break tag in the post.

Are you using the < BR > tag?
see if that worked.

same for IE7, just kinda annoying to use. < BR > without the spaces works to create a line break.

Use it twice to create a blank line, if you didn't already know that. Still cannot edit posts.

Should be fixed now.  Try again.

It's not *new* software. Just an update.

Sorry about the line breaks. Theyre working correctly again.

I miss the old layout already.

Carriage returns seem to be accepted from Firefox again.

I was able to copy/paste my post in the mod forum properly just a few seconds ago.

Forum does not bring you to the newest post since you last viewed.

I cant edit posts made under the old system. Also editing new posts sometimes does not work correctly. It slams all the text together and other times does not update to new text.
