how does the key looks like? Are all letters and numbers together or is there some space between groups?

Also make sure that you enter the one with AP1 into the AP field and the other one in the GC field when installing.

I had the same problem... And, by the way there is no "AP" field it looks like this:

GALACTIC CIVILIZATIONS Key Code:

DN-******-AP1-**********

(note: the reason I included the DN & AP1 is that they were the same on the other copy I bought and exchanged. I never had a problem with a key code before on any other companies game! I mean; I tried substituting the zeroes for o's and the ones for i's and still no dice. I tried inserting spaces for dashes, no dashes, no spaces or dashes and no dice. Tried not using the DN & AP1 and no dice. I mean give me a break fellows...)

PS: When I say there is no AP field I mean that when you go to install this game it just gives you a text box and asks for the key code and that's it. So, I am curious when you make a distinction about the AP field. What's up with that? I think these guys made a huge mistake somewhere in production. When you have a game that costs $29.99 and it can't be installed you're going to have a lot of unhappy kids come X-mas morn (or at anytime). I mean if I don't get a solution soon I will return it to Electronic Boutique where I bought it. Sorry guys, but this kind of mistake doesn't make you look very good at all...
