Gateway Map Newbie Question

How do I get to XI?

Ok I just started playing the game and frankly I think it is one of the BEST! Games I have played in the past year :) You guys at Stardock and Ironclad really put together a masterpiece but anyway to the point.

I have been playing the Map called Gateway and in the description it said that XI was abundant in resources and what not so anyway I went and captured the Gateway system and then jumped to the nearby star. After that I had no idea what to do, I tried clicking on Xi any my lil seeker wouldn't do anything. Do I need some special research or something? Or am I just doing something wrong ^_^ Anyway cheers!

It just means the planets that occupy the Xi solar system (named after the star :P) have plenty of resources. IIRC, a lot of the planets there are ice, and there's a big lack of ice planets in the main system.

You have to research "Long Range Jumps" or something like this; then you can jump to other stars the same way you can travel to other plantes..
