It's Feb. 2008: Where's Deskscape 2.0

Just can't wait for us Vista Home users without OD to finally get Deskscapes. Anyone know when it'll be released this month?

Sorry for the unrelated post, just a little anxious.

I believe Jafo's "eject" button must be blinking right now.

Get a grip TheAlmightyLeader (you wish). You sound like a 12 year old. A coward is someone who calls people names while sitting safely at home behind a computer.

1.91 beta is not equal 2.0 relase. The Beta is only for OD-customers, basta.

DescScapes2 will have a free version. There is no point in crying and winging about its release date. It will be released once all the internal testing has been finished. :(

It's rather humorous how tough people are over the internet. Talkin' trash while hiding behind their computer screen. Makes you wonder who the real coward is....actually, I guess we don't really have to wonder at all.

And *this* is what happens when I spend time with my family instead of you guys.
Maybe now the wife will understand.   :CONGRAT:

-sigh-

So here we go . .

If you are an ODNT subscriber you made a deal with Stardock that they would provide you access to stuff more likely to crash your PC but you would get it earlier.  That's the deal.  Dollars for access.

Anyone else . . . they OWE YOU NOTHING.  :)
They don't owe you times and dates.  They don't owe you trial-ware or shareware.  They don't owe you demos.  They don't owe you tech support. They don't owe you apologies or explanations if something doesn't meet your expectations.

Anything they give you is because they like you.  They want you to be happy.  They want you to tell your friends.
What they provide they provide because they would like to support the community and hope to make you clients.

In the end, if you want something from Stardock only availalbe to those who have bought it or subscribed to it, buy it or subscribe to it.

Otherwise wait patiently with your hands out, your heads down and show some gratitute when you get it.

As an aside (and perhaps a warning)  I'm not a big fan of personal attacks.

It's sad when the personal attack is directed to one of the nicest guys on these forums.
Zubaz...I commend you for keeping your cool and not loosing your temper.

Thanks CarGuy.

I try to remember the following quote:
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
(oftentimes I fail . . but sometimes your best work is your best work and it's not quite good enough . . . but it's still your best.   ;) )

Ah well, it's Monday, the start of a new week for most folks. ;)

Some seem to have a check list of things that the need to get done for the week, like being a real jerk. It must be a fantastic feeling knowing that you are right and the smartest person you know, all the time.  :SURPRISED:

I've never even come close to that, have a hard time getting my socks on the right feet.

Oh wow, having "being a real jerk" on your checklist for the week sounds cool. Be an $%@*& on monday and be mr. sensible compassion for the rest of the week. That's not such a bad deal if you ask me :d

He should just add "avoid forums on mondays" to the list and all will be fine :CONGRAT:

Banned jerk user.

Let's be straight forward here:

In November we announced that we would have DeskScapes 2.0 publicly available in February.

We have failed to have a stand alone public version available for a variety of reasons, primarily, the difficulty in dealing with so many different hardware configurations on Vista.

We have DeskScapes 2.0 beta on Object Desktop. ODNT users are more used to dealing with beta software and are giving us feedback which we're working through. If someone wants it bad enough, get Object Desktop.

Otherwise, you'll have to wait until the public beta which, we hope, will be in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Brad.

But you can't make 'em drink.

I only got one thing to say...I joined WC specifically for ODNT and...make no mistake...the community as a whole. These people go out of their way to do the right thing and all these crybabies out there do just that...cry like babies when they don't get things instantly. Listen you dunderheads...instant gratification went out the window when you hit puberty. Patience guys...you should know the meaning (hopefully)...I said it before....It will never get here before it's time. If you can't handle that...oh well...then I feel sorry for you. My four cents!!!

Thank you, that's all I wanted to hear.

P.S. Might want to update the website to say something to that extent instead of having the "Feb 2008" still on it.

As far as other Stardock users posting replies to this question in a negative cocky manner, grow up. Reading these posts have stopped me from purchasing ObjectDesktop at the moment, if this is how your customers are treated then why would I purchase something from youas it doesn't seem that you care about your customers.

This is the furthest thing from the truth.  We apologize for the delay.  DeskScapes 2.0 will be available tomorrow for purchase.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please carry further DeskScapes support issues to this thread:
