I need to move...

I live in the not quite so great state of Minnesota. Yes I know in the winter it get cold and everything but these last 24 hours have been horrible. Yesterday (Monday) it finally warmed up from the single digits. It was 40F outside and I actually had a cig outside and felt like I could have been in a t-shirt. That night around midnight I went to have another smoke before I went to bed and it was around 30F. Now this morning I walked outside to -10F with 10-20mph winds making it feel around -35F to -40F. Seriously now... what kind of a state do I live in. I've come to the conclusion that Minnesota is bi-polar.

Sounds more like 'near-polar'...;)

I think the coldest day we've had in Melbourne would be about 8 .... and the Hottest would be about 45.

That's 'C', not 'F' ....;)

Jafo, you are closer then you realize. I live in Missouri and we have had the worse winter for wind warnings and advisories in the 16 years I have lived here.

The winds are not coming down from Canada as per usual but, from the arctic. Yes, thats right the North Pole; actually Siberia the news reported.

Tuesday morning we were enjoying a balmy 57 by 12:00 PM the temperature was 25 the winds shifted to the NW at 54mph. I know how you feel right now. It's a big 5 now, only -11 the winds are down to N26.

In Calgary with the wind chill it's been -49 C the last couple of days. Even transit is having trouble running. Global warming can't come soon enough!
