(Resolved - Thanks SD!) Fix the forum Stardock!

Notice anything about all the new faces around here as the release date gets closer? None of us have avatars! I have tried on 3 different computers with three different internet connections. From Stardock.com and from SOASE.com... 50x50 pixels, 30x30... It makes no difference. Avatars are a big deal...

A simple edit feature would really work for people like me who do this stuff half asleep most of the time or on the fly between meetings with no time to proof read things right away.

You can edit if noone else has replied after you. The OP edit option is under the tools button and should be available at any time.

I know. But often others post during an edit and the only after post option is only the OP. The lemmings need the option as well. I need the option a lot... :SNIFF!:

What browser are those who are having avatar problems using?

I just tested it in IE on a spare account and I was able to change the avatar twice with no problem.

I'll change my icon back when you reply...

EDIT: Make sure you're uploading it under the personal icon part and that the "Show icon" bo thing is checked... And use Firefox

2. 6 different computers.

3. 3 different internet connections

4. all of the various websites suggested.

I'm the same. Opened up an image that I wanted to use as my icon in Gimp, resized it to 50x50 and it wouldn't upload so then resized it to 49x49 to be on the safe side and still wouldn't upload. Worked OK for the profile pic though, just not the icon.

I've tried this through both this forum and the Galciv2 forum and neither works for me.

Browser is Firefox

try uploading to imageshack(or you choice of site) and then put it in the field that says link to offsite avatar.

Man, something is whack with the forums lately. I often have to spend several minutes waiting for threads to load. It is both in IE and Firefox so I tend to think it is the code base or the servers.

So I finally tried to upload one, and it doesn't work for me either - IE or Firefox, same deal. What's the file size limit?
I can't do it now since I'm at work, however when I tried to upload the image it would not show up there. I'd browse to the image, hit "update", it would refresh the page and the box remained blank. It worked fine for personal photo, but not for personal icon.

Hope that helps :x

Edit: I tried it on both the Sins forums and the Stardock forums, same behavior.

Hello all,

We've published an update to the forums that fixes the issue with uploading your avatars. Please give it another go.
