aha, you mean losing my ship. yes, it wasnt the best start off, but I quit only contingent on the fact that I had to restart the game 3 times, any chance at victory was slim at that point (against a human) and because frankly, I'd had enough already.

I wasnt beaten by the computer, it claimed a single ship. that catalyzed my frustrated leaving, but I left because ultimately I would have been beaten by a player.

now I'm, at best, slowed by losing my capital. just ask Derek. understand the circumstances before you judge based on limited facts.

You lost your *flagship* to the AI in the beginning of that game. At that point you were pretty much done. So yeah, rationalize it how you want, but the AI beat you

Anny if you think that losing your cap ship at the beginning is a death sentance, you need some serious practice. like serious, damn hard practice.

if you want replays go check out the FFA thread. that one went meh because I was rusty, but its more than good enough for your purposes.

again you guys are bringing up the only 2 scenarios that I've ever failed spectacularly, and let me tell you something: there are plenty of examples where I have turned this against someone.

this recent FFA in which I fought almost two people at once.
the time where I succeeded in taking down 4 caps while only losing 1? (while being outnumbered and distant from any production planet the whole time)

Yeah, in a game were we both agreed that had I grabbed teh dead asteroid instead of you I would have won... it was just bad luck / stupidity in the early game on that match. And it still took you forever and a day to actually win, said win being based on ping-ponging your fleets.
