Welcome screen doesn't appear

Ok,
I have installed and reinstalled logon studio more than once,so I know that is not the problem.
When I apply any skin from logon studio, it uses the classic login.
When I go to the control panel and try to recheck it, both "use the welcome screen" and "use fast user switching" are still enabled.
The only way I can actually go back to the welcome screen is to restore the xp logon option found in the program.
I have all of my visual drivers and stuff downloaded, and I have used logon studio before I had to recently reinstall windows.
Does anyone have any idea on how to make Logon Studio actually apply a skin?
-Thanks for the help in advance

Are you the only account on your machine? Is it password protected? In order for the logon to actually show up, one of those has to be the case (multiple accounts or pass protected).

Not to hijack your post, but I am having the same problem. No matter what I do, I get the classic logon screen. I know the vers of XP I am using had some registry tweaks applied and though I was able to turn off autologon via the registry I don't know how to restore the welcome screen. Also I have changed the defaultusername in the registry multiple, multiple times only to have it return to Admin which is just annoying. If anyone out there is really confident with sorting this out as far as manual registry entries go I would be super grateful.

Control Panel | User Accounts | Change the way users log on

Use the Welcome Screen
Use Fast User Switching

I think that will work for most people, but for me it has not. I've checked them several times, applied the settings, unchecked them and re-applied tried rebooting and logging on and off or just switching users several times. I think I may have read somewhere that when the PC is a member of a domain, Classic Login is forced and you cannot get the welcome screen. I am in a workgroup for home networking purposes, but I didn't think that qualified as being a member of a domain.

I know that's not the problem, because that's not my case. I still haven't figured out the problem either. Every time I use any skin and it applies it, it acts like the classic logon. The settings in the control panel for the logon type have not changed at all, and they are correct so I know that that is not it. I don't think I'm missing any drivers, but that might somehow be it. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would be very greatful, thanks!
