Vista v. Object Dock

Can someone PLEASE help me!

I have been running Object Dock Plus with Vista Home Premium quite successfully ever since I bought my new Acer Aspire laptop. However, I've had zero luck getting it to work on my HP Pavilion Media Center desktop with Vista Home Premium as my OS.

In the beginning, I got ODP up and running, but then it crashed and even after uninstalling and cleaning everything I could find of my first installation out of my 'puter, I had no luck even getting ODP to work after reinstalling it.

Has somebody out there got some suggestions as to how I can work around this? I use Spy Sweeper with Anti-virus, PC Tools Spyware Doctor, Windows Defender, and WinPatrol Plus to keep all the nasties away.

Your kokua would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, therein lies the rub! When I attempt to open the program, there's a pause followed by a Windows box that reads: "Object Dock Plus has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Well, sir, I've been waiting more'n two months for Microsoft to offer any suggestions. Fortunately, I'm not required to hold my breath until they do. Instead, I dutifully close the program as instructed and go about my business--without my beloved Object Docks!

As I indicated in my initial post, my OS is Vista Home Premium and I have redundant protection from spyware and malware in the form of Spy Sweeper, Desktop Mechanic, Primary Response SafeConnect, Windows Defender and my own eyes--ever vigilant.

All that said, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Do you install via Stardock Central?  If not, I'd start by installing that and install OD from there.  That will get you the most current version.  Uninstall what you have first.

You could try running OD with admin privs. This helped me when I was first getting Sysstats to work. Without admin rights, OD would crash hard when I tried to add a stats docklet. However once I got it working, I was able to revert it to starting with normal user permissions. Maybe you have some once-only type problem like this too?
