Re-Formatting

Re-install WB6

Hi,

I am going to reformat my HDD shortly, (It's full of Rubbish) I purchased WB6 last month, and installed SDC and updated WB6 from SDC.

When i have reformatted and Re-installed Vista, Can I download WB6 from SDC or do i have to Download direct from Stardock, as i do not have the WB6 exe.

cheers

SDC is the best way to go.

You can also use SDC's archiving option to archive the current installed version of any Stardock program along with their specific skins you have installed. I highly recommend it to save some time.

Hmm, are you sure the programs are installed? Do you have the latest version of SDC? Interesting that its greyed out. Never heard of that one before.

Are the apps installed?  Do you have the option to download and install when you right-click | Archive?

Ummmm... the archiving option isn't going to do squat if he's going to reformat....

Well then what good is it for. This is of course assuming that he knows he has to back up his data, which is why the archiving function is the best option for SD products/skins installed.

I guess you could have offered more of a solution instead of this "isn't going to do squat", but why would you do that? Not as if he was asking for help or anything.

I assumed he'd archive, back up to cd, and restore after the format.

as you can see the archive function is greyed out, ( possibly due to the above error.

Ya know, I wasn't being sarcastic to you in my response. I was simply pointing out that the archive feature is going to be useless when the drive is formatted. Had you mentioned that he should then burn the archive to CD/DVD, then my observation would have not been necessary.

what is that? about a 3.9in monitor?

Obviously if someone says that he's going to format his HD then one can be certain they know to backup their data. Again, obviously there's going to be exceptions and yes you shouldn't assume, but that's life and it happens everywhere. Still, I have yet to meet someone in who knows how to format and doesn't know that you need to backup data. Still Phoon, you could have elaborated in stead of giving (IMO) a useless response.

Jeffo1: You have to select the Object Desktop tab on the left panel then highlight a program you have installed and then select to archive for the archive to show up. I believe in the photos you showed that you're currently viewing the news (browser) of SDC. Try what I described. It should work.

I can't make it out either.

Eyes aren't what they used to be ... of course it could just be those pics are really small.

Likely the image capture software....

When you are posting to imageshack . . and it asks if you want to resize . . . uncheck that box.
