WindowFX vs. Windowblinds

Hi
When will stardock make windowfx compatible with their own windowblinds? Most effects (like transitions, windows animations, dragging) look awful when using per pixel alpha blending skins, which are the majority of the good skins. For example, when I minimize a window, a very thick black border appears around it, no matter the effect I choose. It just makes windowfx unusable, it's way uglier than the default windows animations.

When they are ready.
Zubaz shrugs and waits for VistaFX or whatever (if it happens)

I used WindowsFX for the shadows. I like them heavier than most skin settings. I'm out of luck. Thankfully WB is getting so much attention I'm kept happy with what it can do.

I'm with you on this one grklein, I'd love to be able to use WindowsFX on my (Xp) system but the ugly black border bug is the killer.  :SNIFF!:

Is a fix in the works guys?

P.S. I cannot move to Vista for work/professional reasons for the foreseeable future.

What graphic card do you have?

A black border around the transitions is not normal.  They should appear complete with the semi transparency in the frames.

Do you perhaps have nView or some other Nvidia application running?

I have XP Pro, with Blinds and WindowsFX, I dont have any of those 'Big black border things". It runs really well actually. And the fading runs crystal smooth. Then again, I do have a pretty powerfull compuer    :CONGRAT:

Are you on the current beta of WindowFX? Through Stardock Central 3.00x[b].005 is available. It was updated in October. I would like to try to replicate this from this end.

Need your OS and your Video card type please.

I have too those ugly black borders...and i have allready regdet buying Object Desktop.
My hardware >>> Celeron 2.8Ghz, 1GB Ram, ASUS Geforce 7600GS AGP 256 DDRAM

Stardock apps have big potential but are too buggy...For expample, WindowFX has huge potential to draw all Windows XP users from linux and Vista back to stick with XP and buy Stardock apps, but it seems that they dont really care...

WinFX is buggy, unstable and many effects are ugly. I was hoping to get something like Compiz on Windows, but not this.I wanted some usable effects, inspired from Compiz. Nice, elegant minimize animations like zoom or magic lamp...and not those chaotic transitions...

You *can* make your own.  :)

(I wonder which came first WindwsFX or Compiz? - too lazy or too early to google it  ;))

Since this issue is in this topic: I too have black borders around my windows when dragging windows, certain maximize and minimize animations etc.

Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66, Gigabyte 8800gt 512mb, 2gb ram, Win XP Home SP2, WindowFX 3.00a.014, WindowBlinds 5.51 build 97 x86

Is it because my skin is perpixel in the title bars?

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones - having no problems using both here on XPP, though I seldom use PPX WB skins.

WindowFX is 8 years old according to the ODNT history. Compiz is 2 years old. WindowFX wins by a long shot. Try not to do what Stardock complain about in that history ("a long running issue with Stardock has been Mac fans retroactively crediting Apple or others with features Stardock came up with and implemented first")
