It's in Stardock Central. Just look right below where DA is listed, and TA should be there now.

I must take this opportunity to loge a formal complaint to stardock. I have dial up where i live and my family is grandfather in under a plan that is really slow, even compared to dial up. Therefore I am unable to use stardock central at my house. Even running a download overnight would not work because my provider kicks us off after a short time of inactivity.

I thought that i might be able to go somewhere where there is high speed and download stardock central then download TA or even the latest patch for DA, but i am pretty sure that I have to have GalCiv on the computer where I am downloading. I have been trying to think of a way to get the things i need but I am at the end of my rope. I enjoy Stardock's software very much and plan to continue buying it and even trying to help with beta testing, but if i ether have to pay 60+ dollars a month for satellite internet or wait many more years until DSL finally makes it out into the country where I live then my patience will grow thin.

If anyone can think of a solution, please post it.

I've seen people post about this kind of problem before, Yorman. They usually posted again the next day saying that they emailed support@stardock.com (I think that's right support email) and they got back with them really quickly and had a solution that resolved their issues.

This is what I've heard, but I've never needed to use it...

Downloading using stardock central is a fairly automated process, it gets the files and installs them. All you have to do is click the download button. However, as you are aware of, you need a good internet connection for this.

An alternative method is download the files from somewhere else, and then use a cd, or something to move the files to your computer. From there, you should be able use stardock central to install the file(s)(not sure how to do that), or call stardock.

You can download everything with SDC (you don't actually need to install GC2--just right click it and pick Download and Archive, then accept when it asks about the modules, and you'll download everything in archive form without installing), so the only problem would be the time it takes.

If that's an issue, then you can just archive what you have off your home machine and copy those archives to a USB drive, then install them where you're downloading to reduce the amount you need to get. Then just replace the archives on the drive with the updated ones and take them home.

i got the archive downloaded and home. i installed stardock central and when i tried to open the archive, it wanted to download updates. This would still take a long time on my dial up. is there any way to just open the archive?

The updates don't take that long on dial-up. Maybe 45 minutes at most.

Even the beta of TA only took 4.5 hours.
