This question would probably be better directed at Paradox, the European distrbutor of GC2.

Unfortunately neither expansion will be available at retail in Europe unless something changes to make it possible.

Will the expansions ever be avialable in canada or will they remain dl only?

I believe Amazon UK stocks the original, but not the expansions. Run a search for it, but be sure to choose a new copy so you won't run into the same trouble again!

Moppy i know that Game used to stock the original version of the game but i have not seen one around over here for a long time now.

DA should be available as a part of GC2 Gold in Canada. No retail plans have been announced concerning TA yet, though (anywhere).

I bought mine from Game, and thought I was buying it new, when I took it back they advised me to get a refund, as when the game comes back in stock It would be at reduced price reduced from £10 to £5, they never got it back in stock. the buggers.
although on a side note the game is still installed on my pc (i found this out months after taking the game back so started paying it) there are some bugs, and no updates, which is why I want to be able to buy the game.
Is there any other way to do this, seeing as the game is still installed?
e.g they send me the verification code, once recievved I will send them a cheque?

I have heard you can buy a discounted serial code, can any one tell me where I can buy this from?

If I buy the Dark Avatar (download only) will I get the serial that will let me update the original version I currently have, as well as be able to update the expansion.
I am just trying to find out all the differant possibilities.

No, DA will only give you a DA serial. If you don't have a serial for DL, you should get GC2 Gold instead.

With the dollar as cheap as it is, you'd be better off buying the game from SDC in dollars- cheaper that way.

I think I will have to look into getting a discount serial, then, the only trouble is I would get my parents to buy it with their credit card, from their pc.
And give me the serial number, would thaat cuase any problems?

Just have them use the email address on your SDC account when they buy, or have support merge the accounts afterwards if not.

Can I find out the step by steps of what happens from when you place your order (for the game or serial code) to registering the serial and updating the game, as I believe I may have deleted stardock central from my pc, so that is one thing I need to do.
I don't want to order the serial and find I can't use it for whatever reason.

There's not really any reason you wouldn't be able to use one you buy directly from us. Like I said, if you use the same email address on the order as you use for your SDC/forums account, it should link the serial to you automatically. In that case, you just fire up SDC after buying, and download/update the game.

If it doesn't automatically connect the serial to your account, then all you need to do is get on SDC and go to tools menu->register products, click Games at left, then find GC2 and/or DA in the product list. Select the appropriate one and copy/paste the serial in from the email you got after buying, then enter your email address and click register. Then you can download/update as above.

If you buy with a different email address than you use for SDC/forums, then you need to email support@stardock.com after buying and request an account merge with the two email addresses (tell them which one you want to be the one left afterwards). Then do as above.

ah, I think I know why the game did not work, if my memory serves me right.
The game I bought was Brand new, still in its plastic cover ect, when initially setting up the game I entered my e-mail address slightly incorect, so when weeks later I decided to update it ect, I went about setting up a stardock account ect, but i had difficulties, and the reason that I was advised the Serial has already been used was because of my initial error in mistyping my e-mail address.

also I think the reason I have 1982 after my name, is that when I set it up originally it was just moppy or neomoppy (like I normally use) and registered to the incorect e-mail address with the serial number.
I cannot remeber the log on details of the other account (moppy/neomoppy) and cannot remember my log on details for my Stardock account with this (moppy1982)
This is going to cuase me problems still in the future.

If the above is the case could stardock let me set up a breand new stardock account, and issue the serial number to my new account.

If you entered any personal details (name, address, etc) when creating the "bad" account, and those do match your current one, support may be able to help you recover it. Contact support@stardock.com for further help with that.
