WB6 Configuration window displays too high

Upon clicking the Windowblinds System Tray icon, the Configuration window displays with the title bar off the top of the screen. I am running Windows xp Pro sp2 with all currrent updates, MSI nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128mb video card set at 1024x768.

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X set at 1024x768

just installed 6.00(b).098 - systray icon hasn't come back yet - may need another reboot - going in through display properties to open WB config = config opens up at top of screen stopping at top edge of buttons

Set your screen to a higher resolution, that should put the config window at a reasonable position. Move the config window down by dragging the titlebar, then reset your resolution back to normal.

I would think it easier to right click on the taskbar icon and select "move". I have moved it down each time I have run the program, but it pesists in displaying each time I open the app with the title bar off the top of the screen. A well behaved porogram remembers where it last was when it was run and then returns there the next time it is opened.

I suppose I could change the screen resolution permanantly to the next higher resolution, but I already have problems seeing things at the resolution I am at now.

This annoyance needs to be fixed.

my resolution is locked - monitor won't take a change
right click on title bar does nothing
right click on taskbar icon > move = no effect

at least it stops at the top edge of the min/max - close buttons

Bichur, once you have selected "move", then you use the arrow keys to move the window up or down, left or right, then Escape to return control back to other mouse/keyboard commands.

hmmm... let me give that a whirl...

..... no move option on title bar...

right clicking tray and choosing move, then using down arrow to reposition.....

upon tapping 'esc'.... config immediately jumps back from when it came

Ooops... you're right! Ok. Let me revise that... instead of hitting Esc, do a left mouse click.

shall try that when I get home.

will it then re-open to the same height? after a reboot?

awrighty... open config, right clicked bar icon, chose 'move', used arrows to reposition, left clicked, closed config, opened config, right back where I started.

can move it where I want - but it won't be there when config reopened

Sorry.. but no. It won't stay there after you reopen the window. That's what this whole thread is about in the first place. I'm trying to bring it to the attention of the developers that their program has an unacceptable glitch it it.

I know that.

Starting with #5 I thought you were giving me a way to fix that.

Email support@stardock.com at this point.  Maybe WB can be tweaked.

I have the same issue as described above - but it's a minor annoyance I can live with.

hmmm... totally ignores ODock's reserve edge too.

Some new opbservations on my orginal post.... if you have your task bar doublehigh, it will cause WB Config to display with the title bar partly cut off at the top of the screen. If you have a toolbar like Dragon Naturally Speaking, it will cause WB Config to display with the entire title bar cut off at the top of the screen.

Not only that, but I can raise the taskbar high enough to cause it to cut off the first line of tabs, too.

Has there been any progress on this issue?. It is a definate annoyance. The programmmers need to figure out a different algorithm to locate the window when it displays. The one I favor is to place it where the user last placed it when the window was last opened. Currently, it appears to use some method that involves how far it is located above the taskbar and any assoiciated toolbars located at the bottom of the screen. This is an inherently undependepdable method for placing the window because you can never know how much vertical territory may be taken up by the taskbar itself and 3rd party toolbars.

I have the same video card (FX 5200) the same resolution (1024x768) and the same problem, but at the end it's not so boring, as i open the configuration panel just sometimes. however, if it could be fixed, i will appreciate it...

The window should not appear off the top of the screen when on 1024x768 in the current beta on OD.

for me, it has moved done a hair of a tad

using Vienna2
- previously WB cofig stopped at the top edge of the min/close buttons
- now it opens with the top edge of the title bar at the top edge of my screen

Same here

Vienna2, Elegance, pretty much all I've tried

at least the full title bar is now visible

Hello,

I also have the same problem. My video card is also an FX 5200 with my resolution set at 1024 x 768. This is annoying and a fix would be appreciated. Thank you.

The beta I mentioned makes sure it is not off the top of the screen, so what problems are you having now?
