sdc1/2 almost unreachable

I have been trying to download anything from sdcentral for around three days now with no success, connection just times out after a while.
I have been using Linux for the last two weeks, re-installed XP and found that my stardock products are unobtainable either via sdcentral or email link (I assume they must be the same servers).
Any help would be appreciated

Please try the following:

-Run the file here: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/remove_sdc.bat
-Restart your computer
-Reinstall SDC from here: http://sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe

Is there any error in C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\login.txt?
You can switch servers and refresh the XML data in SDC?
What version of SDC?

No errors in login.txt, now re-installing and restarting.
The sdcentral available for download from the link is not the latest one, it's 2.45.462 build 150.
Doesn't matter which server I use as the topic title suggests

EDIT: Still extremely slow, fast being 4Kb and less than 1Kb being the average speed, I have an 8Mb connection.
Still no problems with login.txt

EDIT2: Downloading wb6.xml is reasonably quick but as soon as wb6.sdc starts it hardly moves and eventually hangs.
