Shellstyles in Vista

I can't get the Vista Shellstyles i made to load correctly.

I was reading up on how to make the Vista Shellstyles work correctly, When I came across this link: https://forums.joeuser.com/?forumid=36&aid=152921 . So I applied my magic to it and it instantly worked. Beautiful stuff. I only skinned the Vista.Shell and the Explorer.InfoPane.

When I rebooted my machine, I couldn't get them back for the life of me. The Images are there, the .Uis files are still intact with the calls to the images, What gives!? is there some magic dongle switch that lets me turn it on?

I can't really release a theme that let's the user experience it just once.

Anyway.... Please Help!!!

Simply typing: "Bump" would have sufficed rather than blurting out a pejorative toward the very folks that might help. Not too intelligent, eh?

Hmmm, you're not going to get help like that. A little politeness and good manners go a long way

Indakind, the forums here move pretty rapidly.  What's new today can be very old tomorrow.  Also, these forums are "staffed" by people just like you; members of the community that have an interest in skinning.  Some have more or less experience in this or that facet of skinning.

So . . your post could have gotten lost, or no one could have know the answer.

Now . . I hope you get one, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

A sincere apology might go a long way.

Can you check your system logs for when you first applied the files where they worked and see what was the change when you restarted the computer. I bet there is conflict and Vista has used virtual protection to resolve the conflict. Thus making your changes not work or being lost from the system itself. Thus it falls back to what it was before you applied any changes and will not use them due to they are not part of the virtual system anymore ... if they even where to begin with also!
That or you may have to enlighten me a bit more as to what the complete change is and how it was applied to begin with and be very precise on exactly what it is and how you did it.

ah I see it now - you wil have to remove the uis 4 and anything related to it for the vista to skin that area properly. There are several approachs to this contact me and I'll try to show you what you are up against!
