The Undead are killing me!

i have run into a very big problem, the undead are attacking my colonies

I'm playing Galactic Civilizations 2: Dread Lords v1.0 and i have run into a problem.
I was playing on a huge map and i had 5 planets, then a problem occurs.
one of my most populated planets is under seige by the undead! this is basicly what it said and how i reached:

"Sir there is a crisis on SilverNight! Following the research conducted in to The Undead Worrier science believes that the chemical compounds have become air born! Now the colony is been terrorised by undead citizens! Further research found that if their saliva reachs your blood stream then you will die and join them! These newly risen dead people live again only to eat the living! our weapons have no effect, not even missiles! Also science says that this could reach across worlds! What should we do?

Well, I'd say split the difference, see how many +50% bonuses you can grab for your armies. The ones that can take the hit, anyway.

Also, change your civ's name to the Dead Lords.

HAHA, now THATS a cool event.

not when it wipes out the drengin, their dead thanks to this event. also planet quality is decreased. my colony crenna had 4 million on it (due to an invation) and now it's people are dead thanks to the event, planet quality droped from class 4 to class 2.

Were you using worchestershire sauce as an embalming agent or something!?

I've never seen that event, it sounds pretty cool. I wonder how it works on the Yor? Undead Killer Robots? That's a movie just dying to be made.

On a somewhat more serious note, I've never seen this kind of good/evil choice span more than one turn - is it a new type of mega event?

Spore. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfrakker in the galaxy. Accept no substitutes.

it is cool. terrible but cool.

i wonder how it would efect the Yor too? wierd.

maybe it had something to do with the failed update

build fences what ever it takes to keep them at bay. also, if you can, stop it from spreading off world. (+20%

The YGA check failed (Yor Genuine Advantage)

You're playing Version 1.0 of Galciv2?

I have never had this happen to me so i can only assume.. But Good runs the risk of this event affecting other planets, Neutral means no posatives but it wont affect any other planets and it stops there, and then evil i have no idea about .
Just look at the description for the event if you choose the good option.

also, if you can, stop it from spreading off world

"if you can" as in its not number one priority, and it prob means your other planets have a % chance of catching this epidemic if you choose the good option.

true... either way it's pritty good, if your evil  . (whistling)

Did you choose the option to continue researching for invincible solidiers when that even came up with a picture of zombies and a graveyard? If yes then I'm guessing that
A. its why so many have never seen it
and B. why this is happening
isn't happening anymore. dont know why, maybe it's one of those incredably rare things and i got a fluk when it happened 3 time, or it was a fault/glitch.

Its a megaevent, and if you choose the "Good" choice then it has a decent percentage to strike again, Neutral means no percentage, and evil means small percentage i think.

someone messaged me and said that their game didn't contain it? what about you guys...

makes me want to buy the game even more.

Is this legitimate? Mega events weren't in DL 1.0, and I've never seen any mention of this event anywhere before (and I'm certain that many people have jumped at the opportunity to use undead soldiers, as I certainly have!)

Never seen nor heard of it before either. 1.0 is before my play time. But I think they did some kind of revamp prior to 1.1....And I would take them in a heartbeat. After all -

How many times do I have to tell you? People are a RENEWABLE resource!

BTW I would highly recommend patching up the game if the OP is ever sees this. It's a much better and tougher game by 1.5.

nice south park ref.

as for the problem, it seems like you're getting the same random ethical event repeatedly. while that'd be statistically unusual, it's likely to happen to someone sooner or later.

reserach xeno ethics to make the problem go away.

Invincible to missiles? hmmm i might just load up my old quake 1 game and put that theory to test.... oh yea there are zombies in Turok as well.
Resident Evil? actually, i don't think you get missiles - but little old 9-mils do the trick with enough rounds.

I never played that one. I only played quake 1 because of the multiplayer mission, which was an awesome feature sadly lacking in most games. I played Turok only because the disk came free with some hardware i bought. Typically i do not buy these kinds of games because they are not licenced for more than one computer. I will say hats off to Microsofts Dungeonsiege for being a rare exception.
