Weather Docklet does not work

Weather Docklet by Jeff Barmann Version 1.6 and Stardock

Maybe it only works in the US. Pity I do not live there. Neither do a lot of your customers

N.B: not all the weather points are shown on the International check map of AccuWeather ... for instance the one i can find the nearest for me is Paris, France, but indeed i know there's a meteo station very close to where i live. I tried it as a location in the weather docklet , and it worked ...

I know the UK is pretty small,but we don't all live in London

well Bobby...all I can advise is to try finding your weather code for Worthing...hopefully something will materialize in that regard...btw, London must be fun on the weekends at least, right

Hehe true,I've had many a lost weekend in London.I can even remember a couple of them.

A friend of mine once said that London is a bit like the moon...it's amazing,exciting and is a thrilling place to visit....but you wouldn't want to live there.

Hi everyone! Just so you know, its a brand new weather backend on our servers, so we're still working on that for international locations. If your location doesn't work right now, don't worry we're working hard in conjunction with AccuWeather to get *all* available locations up and running!

A note also about locations: right now it can be a little finicy about what you put in. Particularly, if you're a Canada resident be aware that you don't want to do say "Toronto, Canada", but use the province abbreviation...so..."Toronto, ON". Another example, "London, England" won't work.. but "London, United Kingdom" will. And for the US, you can do "48104" or "Ann Arbor, MI", but you can't spell out the state name and have it work...so "Ann Arbor, Michigan" would fail.

Hopefully this is taken care of quickly, i cant live without my weather docklet, though in the meantime I am just using the XML docklet, but I would rather use this one.

"Particularly, if you're a Canada resident be aware that you don't want to do say "Toronto, Canada", but use the province abbreviation...so..."Toronto, ON"."

I had entered "Toronto, On", but the docklet gives a reading for "York, On" (which is the former name for Toronto, from about a hundred years ago!) and gives the wrong weather reading by many degrees. Right now the docklet reads "York,On Sunny 7C", but when I open the homepage from the docklet, Accuweather there says "York,On Sunny 12C". And also, the 5 day forecast shown by the docklet does not match the one from the Accuweather homepage.

Dragged the docklet off the dock, started over, put in "Toronto, On", now the docklet says "Toronto,On Cloudy 11C" (there is not a cloud in the sky!), but the Accuweather homepage then says "Toronto", but says the weather is "Sunny 7C" - but any other weather report I check says it's 12C. And the 5 day fly-out is a day behind - it's Sunday, but the fly-out starts at Saturday's (yesterday's) forecast ??

OK, mine is going crackers. It's supposed to be 'Sheffield, United Kingdom'. Yesterday it said Barnsley, this morning Sheffield, and now Chesterfield. Eh?

XML Weather Docklet Version 1.10 works but no 5 day forecast ... it'll do for now until Stardock gets to grips with Accuweather. Really hated the bundled one saying it was yesterday all the time!

This is just the kind of thing that constantly makes me want to throw up. A product comes from the US with some new "features" that nobody asked for, which don't even work for those poor benighted morons who aren't lucky enough to live in the glorious U S of A. And who cares? Nobody.

When I first installed Object Dock Plus, I had to spend an hour trying to work out how to get local weather, finally finding something like SEXX0031. That, of course, is not accepted any longer, and so far all attempts to get any weather information for Stockholm have failed miserably. As thomassen has already said, Stockholm, Sweden produces a request for specification among

* Stockholm, Sweden (Jamtland)
* Stockholm, Sweden (Skane)
* Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholm)

which in itself is ridiculous, and insulting - the distance between Jämtland and Skåne is about 500 miles north-south, neither contains a Stockholm, and they tend not to share weather conditions.

Will Americans ever learn that Europeans are actually real people, and not merely zoo animals for the amusement of tourists?

See post #29.  It's being worked on.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

As a proud U.S. citizen, my first response to what Mr. Everard said was going to be snippy. But then I remembered one American tourist that I encountered in Tivoli Gardens a few years ago, and her behavior as she interacted with a very nice Danish lady at an Information kiosk (apologies to Mr. Everard for including information about Denmark while replying to a Swede ). Let's just call her behavior shameful. I imagine that Mr. Everard has seen too many misbehaved American tourists and not enough well-mannered ones.
