Wierd problem with Galciv2

I recently activated my collectors edition bonus pack and DLed the 1.4 patch. I've always enjoyed Galactic Civ 2 (dreads lords, not DA) but never bothered downloading the updates. Well, cutting to the chase, after DLing the updates, planets and ships won't show up as 3D models, just the little 2D species ship icons, as if I was really far zoomed out, even when I max zoom in.

Plus, it appears that the bonus pack didn't actually install, as well. The UI updates came, but not the ship parts or missions or the 'content' of the bonus pack. Strange, I know.


Any help with this matter would be really appreciated

I'm not sure what ship parts or missions are supposed to come with the bonus pack, so I can't help you there, but I can tell you that somehow your "tactical zoom" slider on the "Interface options" in the main menu has been moved all the way over to one side. Slide it back in the other direction and your 3-D ships will appear again.

Do *not* install the Bonus Pack (If you install a newer patch first, installing this will break your install). That is actually just the 1.0X patch, nothing more. Everything in that is already in 1.4. You want the Enable Collectors Edition Content only file.
