A couple questions

Phantom programs and individual custom icons

Hi,

I have a couple questions:

First, using the free version of ObjectDock (on XP SP2), I keep getting these blank spaces along with my minimized open programs. They either don't have an icon, or they have a question by them. They can be moved around the dock, but there are no right-click options, and I can't remove them. I don't know which programs are causing it. Is this normal/preventable?

Second, I'm wondering if there is a way to assign custom icons for different instances of the same program. I.e. using pictures of friends in their individual MSN chat windows? Yes it can be done temporarily, until you close the windows or do something to restart the dock, but is there a way to make it remember?

Thanks!

Anything I have open - my open windows. Firefox, chat windows, word documents, whatever. The blank spaces might be caused by some program that doesn't run from the taskbar, but rather runs from the systray, but objectdock doesn't recognize that, so it doesn't display correctly... Is that possible?

The free version doesn't pick up the system tray. There is a docklet for it
you should be able to right click on an icon on the dock

the question mark is a new shortcut that hasn't been assigned a picture (right click on dock, add, new shortcut = right click on shortcut - dock entry properties - change image)

can you post a screenshot?

Thank you!

The Object Tray docklet worked...except that it caused severe slowness when closing programs...I may just pay for Plus anyway.

The blank/question marks have disappeared, so it must have just required a restart, I'm happy to report.

I'm still wondering about the question I had about assigning icons, but I don't expect it's possible.

Maybe if you saved the theme... Make sure you clean the cache first

I use OD+ so I do not know if you can save themes with the free version...also make sure that you uninstall the free version & reboot before installing OD+....
