Section of start menu stays drawn.

I'm using totally current XP sp2, WB 5.5, Object Dock 1.5, WindowFX 2.21 (from an earlier OD subscription), on an ATI AIW 9600xt using 5.11 cats. I just started experimenting with WindowFX and after I click the start bar and release there is a small square of the start bar still imprinted on the screen (until I refresh desktop). I've tried a few things to get rid of it like dropping shadows and transparency, changing hyperpaint in WB but nothing seems to work. Is there a workaround for this? I would have showed a small jpg of it but there doesn't seem to be an option on this board to upload so.. Any ideas?

upload to a site like photobucket - copy the http url generated
insert that into the box that appears when you click the insert image icon

ok I just read down a little, which I thought I had already looked enough, but apparently this guys post:

Start Menu leaving underlying artefacts
by suPerg0d

..was alluding to the same thing. I did what he suggested and that worked so I guess nevermind?

This problem will also occur if you have changed your start menu speed with any windows customizing or tweaking programs. If that's the case, you need to change the speed back to the windows default (400 miliseconds) with whatever program you used to change it. Be aware that some tweaking programs change this feature automatically for you when installed. If you have uninstalled whatever program you used to change the start menu speed, google "change start menu speed" to learn how to change it back to default. Otherwise, you may have artifacts while viewing your startmenu.

Hope this helps!

NoXion28,

Have had this problem for years now and have still not ever found a fix until now. Thank you so very much. It only occurs intermittently, and I usually hide then show my desktop icons to get rid of it. Will try this fix on next occurrence of it. Finally! A solution!
